After a lot of prayer and sb\il searching xj h&irt finally rade the deefelx)n to return to the 13A for a furlough in ndd-197^'., there are. irony factors that have affected this decision* flt-stly, FJi AlClAL durlnp:-the past year.-Uis^haye^

Secondly, we have not had a furlough as a family since 1971-72. The ^^irls
T-jill r.ust rr.ade rake be in hieh school next year and if v;e are to interrupt their schooling it be noi; or ijait for four years. During the past five years Joy and 1 have spparate trips to the l!SA to try to pick up enough additional support to a furlough unnecessary. These trips proved to be totally unsatisfactory. furnish a good baptism of fire for them, and might tcach us sorcthing also. fitu Cook is close enough to help in an eirorgency and the facilities at Aletheia

Obviously, any decision of this nature is traumatic...-^ut, furloughs seem to be a necessary evil, i.e, naturally, look fonrrard to renevdng' old friendships and making now ones. As patriotic Amiericans wo are all looking fon-zard to being

FjiRlttlAM NEWSLETTER
NEW BIBLE STUDY IN KRIEL

Last Wednesday night we had the first meeting of a Bible Study group at Kreil
in the Eastern Transvaal. It is a new community of about 12,000 fieople who mo:tly work at a power station. About 6 families attended and we had a wonderful time in the Lord. One lady, Sharon Cable made her decision for the Lord and x^ent back on Tliursday for a baptismal service. When we got there we discovered that one of the men, Clive Bayman had also decided to obey his Lord, So we had two baptisms-

Still no definite date can be set for our leaving South Africa, We are now tentatively planning for June, but there are so many imponderables that we really can't be sure. So many things need to be done to make sure of a smooth transition to local leadership as well. tk)st of our furnitur-e and ihings we aren't^keeping - is sold, so our house is looking pretty bare right now. This big item, of course, is the sale of the house and we covet your prayers for this. The econoity is really in recession right now and no property is moving. Con*t afford to sell at a loss,
so we just have to vjait upon the Lord in this. We do appreciate the way you folk at home are rallying around the furlough needs and pray you will continue to do so,
as much is needed yet.
BENONI CHURCH NEWS

The work at Benoni continues to cause concern.

The announcement of our leav

ing has really dampened the Spirit here, but we are praying that they will allow the Lord to make a blessing out of this as well. No one has left, but the old enthusiasm is just not present. They are really very capable and I know that they will soon realize that they can carry on vjithout us as well as before. Terry S.
is a very capable preacher and he will grow more when the chance comes. The Clegg family has moved back to England and we miss them in the assembly. Pray Tcri-th us that they find a group of NT Christians to fellowship vdth there. The church viill be meeting in the home of Phj.lip and Linda Hyrley after v;e are gone and for this we praise HIK. This is a real step of faith for them and I know He vdll really bless them.

The Ladies Bible studies are going well and grovdng. Joy has persuadei^me to teach her Thursday class on prophecy. So I am really enjoying going through the wonderful promises of Revelation again,
