Plans are finalized, reservations are made. The

The students are from every part of Zambia, select ed by the Ministry of Education for their excellence in scholarship and personal achievement. In 1969 Ron began with one class. In 1970 the school expanded and so did the R.I, classes. Amy began teaching a second class in January 1970. In 1971 the school was again expanded and the
combined classes now total 55 pupils.
Roman Catholic, United Church of Zambia, and

Sapps are coming home. Leaving Zambia May 21, they will arrive in San Francisco on June 23 at 8:00 a.m. on the ship President Wilson.

What a wonderful reunion is expected! Oppor tunities to renew old acquaintances and meet face to face all you wonderful people who have stood by us with prayers and offerings. We will be able to share with you first hand of our work in
Zambia.

Anglican are also represented as R.I. teachers. Ron and Amy's group represents all the students who
don't come under these denominations. Seventh

Day Adventists, Pilgrim Holiness, Evangelical, Brethren, Presbyterian, Salvation Army and others
are in the class.

Christ-centered lessons are presented with a challenge to Christian living. "Straight" magazines are distributed weei<ly and the young men are en couraged to attend church each Sunday.

These young men will soon join the privileged few of their age as High School graduates. They are on the launching pad of life, Please pray that the Christian instruction they are now getting will be a real foundation for life building.

FURLOUGH WORRIES

Our big worry as we prepare for furlough is that the congregations we have established during
our first ternn will remain faithful while we're on

furlough. Here is what we are doing to strengthen

the churches before our departure:

takes an active part in leading that congregation.

The Livingstone Church is requiring the most

attention because of four main reasons:
1.

Prayer and Bible Study in Public

Schools (in Zambia)
For two years, Ron has been serving as Religious Instruction teacher to the boarding students of Hill-

per month, a substantial sum for such a small group. We have subsidized the rent
to date, but want them to take full respon sibility while we are gone.
3. 4.

The group is small in numbers. There are no traditional lines of authority,

as we have a number of different tribes

represented.

To strengthen these leaders, I am teaching night

school classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:15 - 7:00. Two subjects are taught The New Testament Church and a simple course on Homeletics. This is in addition to the regular Tues day night Bible Studies that have been going since
the church first began.
RON'S CLASS

Hillcrest is a government owned technical high school located only three blocks from Sapp's house.

For the Libala church, a leadership training con

ference will be held in April for one week. I will be spending several days and nights in the villages
before furlough as well.

I have enrolled in Conservative Baptist Theological

I will be taking the following courses: Anthropology, Independent Churches in Africa, Homeletics, The History of Evan gelical Christianity, and Biblical Theology of Missions. All of these courses will be directly applicable to the situation in Zambia and will prepare me for better service upon our return. ^
