PRAYER UPON ENTERING CHURCH
Almighty God, heavenly Father, You have made me and then remade me in the waters of Holy Baptism to be Your child and heir by faith. This is the Spirits work in me and I pray this day that You would keep me steadfast in this great gift of faith which trusts all of Your promises made certain through the suffering, death and resurrection of Your Son, my Lord Jesus Christ. Though I have not seen Him, I believe in Him through Your Word of promise. In His name I pray. Amen

WELCOME
We welcome you this morning to Grace! It is indeed good for you to be here today. May the Lord bless your time as you hear His Word and respond with hymns, praise and thanksgiving as your faiths response to the Good News of forgiveness and life. If you are not a member of Grace and desire to learn more about our teachings as drawn from Gods Word, please speak with our Pastor. Once again we are glad you are here and we invite you to come and worship with us again. We ask that everyone fill out an attendance registration card found at each pew and return it to an Usher as the Offering is collected. Restrooms are located on the lower level of this building or across the bridge on this floor level before entering the fellowship hall. Children are welcome in our Service and will be invited to come forward for a Childrens Message. Parents may accompany them if they wish. A nursery for infants and toddlers is located downstairs for anyone who has need. If you have any questions please speak with an Usher or Greeter.

HOLY COMMUNION
Holy Communion will be celebrated in the 8:15 Service today. In this sacrament we receive Christs very body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Those who are not members of Grace are asked to speak with our Pastor before partaking of this sacrament so that the unity of faith might be established. Thank you for honoring this request.

AS WE GATHER
Todays Word is all about faith. The reason for the existence of the Church and why we are here today is this very thing called faith. Faith is a divine gift from God. It is not just a thought or the production of our minds. Faith is the assurance and conviction that it is not because of anything in us but because of what faith grasps hold ofnamely, the Word of God is the very content of faith even as it is the very power to believe. Walking by faith, as have the saints before us (most notably Abraham, the Father of Faith), increases our security, as we seek to rely on Gods Word of grace. The world, steeped in sin and its own pursuits, rallies against Gods divine promises, discounting them and confusing us and causing our hearts and minds to be insecure. But, through Holy Baptism, God grounds us firmly in the gift of faith, magnifies our joy, and assures us of forgiveness of our sins and gives us the promise of everlasting life. That was accomplished for us by the object of our faith, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
P Blessed are You, O Lord our God, king of all creation, for You have had mercy on us and given Your only-begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. In Your righteous judgment You condemned the sin of Adam and Eve, who ate the forbidden fruit, and You justly barred them and all their children from the tree of life. LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF School Kits

Our LWML Evening Guild Lutheran World Relief Project this year is School Kits. These kits provide the only supplies for children returning to school after the disruption of war or they help parents continue their childrens education while living in a refugee camp. Now is a great time to take advantage of the school supply sales. Our goal is to make 50+ school kits. We are in need of the following items: Four 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper; no loose-leaf paper One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other One pencil sharpener One blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well) Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure together with a rubber band Five black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secure together with a rubber band One box of 16 or 24 crayons One 2 eraser

The Wittenberg Caf How Then Shall We Live?

Introduction In the early 1500s, people flocked to Wittenberg, Germany to hear Martin Luther speak, and to discuss what it meant to be a Christian in those times. Several centuries later, we are faced with new challenges and some of the old ones. There is ample evidence that our nation has moved into a post-Christian era, with profound implications for Christians and our church institutions. The fundamental questions we will seek to address are: How then shall we live in this new era? How can we Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6) and experience all joy and peace (Romans 15:13), regardless of circumstances? An Invitation to The Wittenberg Caf To provide a forum for us to learn about what is happening in our nation and the world, the challenges facing us as Christians, and a Biblical perspective on these challenges, we invite you to The Wittenberg Caf, an informal gathering of Christians seeking to understand the Biblical perspective on issues confronting us and our nation. We will take a look at what is happening in our nation, as well as more personal issues confronting us today in our homes and families. The discussion will draw on teachings from the Bible and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to shed light on how we might be most true to our Lord in this time in this place on how to move from merely being informed, toward cultivating discernment, Godly wisdom, and the joy of the Lord.
