--Rev. Dr. Deborah Brincivalli

*CALL TO WORSHIP: based on Psalm 29 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders over mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. May the Lord give strength to Gods people! May the Lord bless the people with peace! Come, let us sing and follow after our Lord, Jesus! *HYMN #699G Let Us Break Bread Together *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION: Forever-loving and forgiving God, when we feel overwhelmed by what life does to us, we confess that we find it hard to see beyond our own difficulties to how you are sending us hope and help. Forgive us when we only complain about whats wrong, rather than thank you for what you have already made right. When we are guilty of failing to look beyond our own troubles to the needs of others, remind us that we are to bear one anothers burdens and so fulfill your will for us. Help us to do better. In His name, we continue to confess ... (silent, personal confession) *ASSURANCE of PARDON & GLORIA PATRI *AFFIRMATION of FAITH: Nicene Creed (insert)

THE NICENE CREED

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the virgin, Mary, and was made human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. he has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

May the spirit of friendship exude from each of us as we gather in the house of the Lord. We eagerly welcome all who have come. Our congregation has always been dedicated to a strong Christian education program for all ages. The program in the fall may be a little different than our traditional one, and for that we need some help! First we need "students". Are you bringing your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to Sunday School? Are YOU coming? Next we need helpers and teachers. Could you help once a month or once a quarter? Commitment to teaching every Sunday for the entire year is NOT required! If you are reluctant to "teach", please consider helping with various activities that follow a lesson. Would you be willing to share a story from your faith journey or a mission trip experience with our classes? If you shared something a few years ago, new ears and hearts would like to learn about your experiences. Please pray about ways you can be involved in our Christian education program and contact Pastor Paul, Ruth Williams, or Anita Elwell with ideas and offers of help. The flowers this morning are presented in loving memory of Andy Smith by Rick & Kitty Lamb.
If one member rejoices or suffers, all members rejoice or suffer together! --1 Corinthians 12:26

Our church website needs help! By October 31st we need to redesign our website with a new company since Faith Highway is shutting down. If you can help or have ideas of what should be included in our new and improved website, please contact Pastor Paul or Ruth Williams.
We give thanks to Harold Ware for playing the organ the month of August! His time and talents are truly appreciated!
