From a jedi perspective, I doubt in the context of the movies, this would never even make the script but in a more open minded setting, other possibilities do present themselves. Now in real life, I consider the idea of gender change to be a form of mutilation no matter how you dress it and justify and rationalise it. But this isn't reality. So its worth looking at for the artistic value alone.
