ThisTorahportion,Shoftim/Judges(Deuteronomy16:1821:9)establishesacommand thattobequitehonestthemajorityofthetimewehaventbeenbalancedwithinthe believingcommunity.Itseemsthatthependulumswingseithertothefarrightortothefar leftwhenfacedwiththeissueofbeingabletojudgewithinthehouse.Weeithercanbe foundwithinthecategorywhoconsideritourwholepurposeinlifetopointoutthefaults andtheshortcomingsofothers(torahpolice)yetfailtocheckthelogs/beamsinourown eyes.Theothercategorybecomesthedirectoppositeofthiswhereinordertonotrockthe boatanythingisallowedinthehouseandweusetheversefromMatthew7:1Judgenot thatyebenotjudgedinordertokeepourownpetsins,andsothebarofexpectationstays lowandthereforethematuritylevelstayslowaswell!YetwhatdoestheTorahreveal aboutthisroleofthosewhowouldsitasthejudgesandtheofficers?
