Hits for kids Playgrounds
The entire tztal valley boasts a myriad of exciting childrens playgrounds, just perfect for having fun, doing sports and romping around with friends. Under Playgrounds & Leisure Centers you find a whole list of attractions. We also have two new adventurous sites promising unlimited fun and action: the ultimate Adventure Playground in Oetz takes you on a travel back in time, ranking among Tirols largest playgrounds which are free of charge. Climbing, balancing, sliding and swinging are on the exciting program. In the sandy mud area kids can try washing gold, and with a bit of luck, they find a little piece of gold! A small bridge takes daredevils to the adventure area with shaking trails, balance beams and suspended ropes. Water fans take a swim in the adjacent outdoor pool featuring a 50-meter long water slide. Action guaranteed! In Vent, right behind the Familienhotel Vent, we have built a superb Water & Play Park for children of all ages. Discover the wet element in all its facets.

Starting point: tztal Bahnhof (behind underpass) or Camping Haiming Walking time: approx. 4 hrs, easy walking tour LAKE AMBERGERSEE NATURE WALK Idyllic Ambergersee mountain lake (also called Brandsee) nestles in a small basin formed by the glacier. Start the tour at Sattele area and follow the forest trail to Ambergersee with scenic Acherkogel peak as backdrop. The moor lake is just perfect for a refreshing swim. Starting point: Acherkogelbahn top station Bielefelder Htte old Bielefelder Htte (ruins) Acherbergalm back again to top station Walking time: approx. 3.5 hrs ROTES WANDL FAMILY HIKE The scenic Rotes Wandl loop trail is perfectly suitable for families (and accessible also with baby strollers). Superb views of the surrounding mountain peaks! The beautiful lake shore promises plenty of water fun. Due to its exposed location at 2100 m the Kfler Waal ranks among the unique natural highlights in Tirol. GEOCACHING A FUN-FILLED TREASURE HUNT! Active families are heading for some great treasures spread over the entire tztal. In the villages of Oetz, Niederthai, Lngenfeld and Slden small caches (treasure boxes) are hidden along certain routes. Find them by using a special treasure map, available at all tztal Tourismus offices. Each cache contains a small item for trading, a log book and a hole punch or a secret code. Depending on the route, you either stamp the right cache box on the treasure map or memorize the secret code.

PICCARD AND THE GLACIER OBERGURGL-HOCHGURGL In 1931 the sleepy mountain village was in the news all over the world: the famous stratosphere expert Auguste Piccard made an emergency landing in his hot-air balloon on Gurgler Ferner glacier in the tztal Alps. Due to this breakdown, tourism was kicked off in Obergurgl for the first time.
