The music business is a fickle World and is filled with many excellent musicians that exist is the shadowy background of some really great music. It is these artists that provide a back-bone for some of the more popular musicians; when these wonderful music makers are not there, it is painfully obvious and proves to even the most brainless listener that without a basic foundation, the music does not have the adequate circulatory system to survive. Mr. Scott Crowder Roberts, also known in the World of HipHop as One Drop Scott, is one of the special career musicians that provides critical life-support to ailing musicians or rappers that suffer from creative constipation. It seems that creative talent and showmanship runs deep in blood because his late father, Thalmus Rasulala (1939-1991), was an original cast member for the ABC networks One Live to Live, starting from the inception of the show in 1968 until he left in 1970. He played many different characters during his acting career on shows such as Star Trek The Next Generation, All in the Family, The Jeffersons and many other shows but he was remembered best for his role in the movie

Roots, an adaptation of Alex Haleys book about slavery. He was Kunta Kintes father in the movie. With such a father, it is not surprising that Scott Roberst became a success in music. Mr. Roberts began to study music in 1972 with Charles Moffett who was one of the original free jazz drummers of the musical era, playing with Art Blakey and Archie Sheps. Scott then began playing the steel drums in 1973 with a California Bay Area musician group based out Berkeley, Salsa de Berkeley. He was thirteen years old at the time. The band had many members that would go on and play with some of music greatest and well-know musicians. David Margin went on to play bass for Santana, future Tower of Power saxophonist Lenny Picket, Dan Regan played trombone for Marc Anthony and Willie Cohen, and the group also included the esteemed, world renowned steel drummer Jeff Narrell. Playing with such talented, brilliant musicians, Scott Roberts had ample opportunity to gather every resource of the virtuosity that surrounded him as he perfected his craft. It was while playing with Salsa de Berkeley that he met an important couple, whom in time would become his music teachers in Berkeley. He studied under these folks, along with Butch Haynes, another percussionist alumni of Salsa de Berkeley .

Born in Paris California 1959 Son of actor Thalmus Rasulala Studied music (1972) with Charles Moffit drummer for the Art Blakey trio and father of Charnet moffit . Began playing steel drums with bay area group Salsa de Berkeley(1973) at

the age of 13 Band consisted of future member of Santana bassist David Margin tower of power Saxaiphonist Lenny Picket , world renowned steel drummer Jeff Narrell .Dan Reagan Trombonist for Mark Anthony and Willie Colon. While playing with Salsa de Berkeley met Sheila Escovedo . Became close and began to expand on playing and learnning afro Cuban percussion, Learned from Pete and Sheila Escovedo, as well as Butch Haynes percussionist of Salsa De Berkeley Went on to play percussion in bay area jazz band kick(1977) featuring Roger Glen on flute Ray Obeado guitar ( please chk spelling on all names.) Occasionally when kick performed. Other Artist such as George Ducke Alfonso Johnson Pete Peter Michael Juan and Sheila Escovvedo would sit in with the band met Bill Summers when he sat in with the band. Bill asked me if I wanted to join his group Summers Heat at age 18 began playing timbales, trumpet, singing back up vocs during that time 1978 also played with the Tom Coster band. Coster former keyboardist Santana band featured future American idol judge bassist Randy Jackson. From 1978 thru 1983 toured the world with Summers Heat as well as CON FUNK SHUN.

1984 joined group Freaky Executives. Eventually became main song writer along with lead singer, and founder of the group Piero Ornales .. band was approached by Gold and Platinum producer manager David Rubinson won bammy award 86 . singed with bennie medina of warner bros never finished album dropped in 89. However in 86 while waner bros was dragging with the contract and the band was losing patience . I recorded album with Wayne Shorter (weather report Miles Davis quintet.) recorded a song with my best friend, (Paul Rodreguez) we titled the song surf or die Profile records heard the song and offerd us a record deal. On the night that I singed my record deal with warner bros I also singed a deal to produce and vocalize on the Surf M C;S album with Profile Records. I wasnt able to show my likeness but I produced and rapped on the album. Surf MCS were the first group from the bay area to sing and release a album, with a major record label Surf mcs were a short lived group . In 90/91 toured Europe and japan with Ryuichi Sakamoto Surf Mcs lead me to Anthony Gilmour aka Tone Capone. Capone was the d j for S.M.CS and by the late 80s to early 90s Tone had become a hip hop record producer. We teamed up and in 92 we helped with the formation of rap group three times crazy. The group singed with Virgin New Tribe records released album stackin chips featuring the hit single keep it on the real. I maintained my career as a live performer playing steel drums percussion

and trap drums with Jeff Narrell renowned steel drummer the group played reggae and soka music. In this band bassit Sam Biggers gave me the name after the traditional one drop reggae rhythm, one drop scot. In 2003 I teamed up with producer Greg Landau and recorde a album for afro Cuban artist Bobi Cespedes the album was a blend of afro Cuban and hip hop . I jalso played drums in Cespedess band . Tragically while preparing to tour, in the early morning hours of june 31 I was assaulted. The assault left me in a coma. After another month of rehab., I came home. my musical career was on hold. My mind was still sharp. I produced a string of songs for Mac Dre,.ANGIE STONE SCARFACE . HEADHUNTERS .
