First Convert in Belo Horizonte

The 60-year-old lady made her way out between the benches and people to step forward by faith accej^tlng her Lord as God's Son and her personal Savior. Her name, Joanna Maria da Silva, was soon written in the Book of Life, as she was buried with her Lord in baptism. The mud which was knee-deep plus 15 inches of water made it just enough for the

ANOTHER SAVAGE TRIBEI

This tribe was just recently discovered deep in Brazilian jungles and forests. Undoubtedly many more are to be found in this vast land of unchartered jungles. A recent report here in Brazil stated that one third of this country has never really been explored. You can surely see that there are yet many areas in Brazil and the entire world that desperately need evangelizing with the Gospel of Christ. It is amazing what the Gospel can do. Just a few months ago at a gathering that Christians here in Brazil call Bible Day I was fortunate to meet four Indian men brought in from a jungle mission station. They knew the one called Jesus the Christ, and their lives were completely changed. We need more missionaries and co-workers to spread the Gospel and win these people to the Lord, whether they be in the huge teeming cities or the torrid rain forrests and jungles.

Happy Birthday to Debbie

Cindy, Debbie, Pammie and Kathy

Para hencoes voce, nesta data querida, muito felicidade, muitos anos de vida. What is all of that? That is the song "Happy Birthday to You" in Portuguese. Translated it actually says this: Blessings for you, on this date dear one, much happiness, many years of life. It is sung by the same tune and how the girls like to sing it. Debbie just had her eighdi birthday and she heard the song in English
and Portuguese. They really have a good time at birthday parties. Games were played such as "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," "Clothes Pins in the Bottle* and "Cotton Balls in the Bowl." They really had a lot of fun and worked up an appetite for the cake, ice cream and candy. Debbie was as happy as could be receiving all sorts of gifts, but her eyes really popped out when she saw the bike. Her face got real red and she asked, "Is it mine, really mine?" Yes, it was her bike, but Pammie also likes to ride it, and is usually on it about one half of the time. The girls think there is nothing like a birthday party and all the frills, so they are looking forward anxiously to Pammie's birthday, which is just around the comer May 20th.
