Dear Parents/Caregivers, As part of our curriculum this term, students will be investigating the effectiveness of social media (face

book, twitter, edmodo etc.) as a communication and learning tool. Students will share, reflect and discuss the concepts taught in all classes on the social media website, Twitter. The site will be used to share with students and parents important information regarding assessment, homework, upcoming events, reminders and daily notices. The AB Core Group twitter page will strengthen the communication of essential information between home and school and allow you the opportunity to become involved in your childs daily learning. This program will develop your childs understanding and appreciation of social media as a powerful learning tool. Please feel free to post questions or comments about any of the topics on the page. It is a great opportunity for quick discussion and feedback between teacher, parent and student. Each student will need to set up a twitter account and add the AB Core Group page. We recommend that you develop this account with your child and that both you and your child have complete access to it (password, username). Please have a look at the page with your child. At this time the AB Core Group page is public, to allow your child access whilst they are setting up your account. As of Friday 16th August, the account will be made private in order to restrict public viewing of school information. Only those who have been added by the AB Core Group twitter page will have access to it after this date. We take the issue of online safety seriously and therefore any account which has not been approved by Miss Bennett or Miss Hewlett will be unable to access any of the pages information. We will be giving students more information on how to set up their account over the coming days. Please fill out the slip below which seeks permission for your child to participate in the program and develop an individual account which will allow access to the Core Group page.
