Resumen
Abstract
The present investigation of no experimental, descriptive type of cross section,
with the intention of evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the visual
inspection with lugol compared with the Papanicolaou in the tamizaje of cervical
cancer in women of 25 to 45 years that went to the doctor's office of familiar
planning of the Ministry of Health - Tumbes, the mentioned methods were
applied to 100 women using the no probabilístico sampling considering to all the
women of the locality according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The
results have determined that lugol is a method of low innocuous cost and in
relation to the Papanicolaou. Also acceptable by the population in study and its
results they are immediate, presenting a sensitivity of 75% in comparison with
86.20% of the Papanicolaou; existing significant difference between both
methods. Its high specificity of the 100% does not provide false positives to us in
comparison of 96.8% that corresponds to papanicolaou. We concluded that lugol
is a method easy to learn and to apply that it can make any professional of
health, in places of specially low resources where they count on a minimum
degree of infrastructure and equipment.
