Earlier today I ordered the release of persons arrested yesterday along Mama Ngina Street by the City Inspectorate

Department which is against their freedom of movement and of assembly as contemplated in Chapter Four of the Constitution. To entrench a culture of Justice and the rule of law within Nairobi City County, where everyone rich and poor is able to prosper within an atmosphere of peace, Justice and Fairness, is a core principle of my government.

Towards this end the Nairobi City County Government is in the final stages of constituting, equipping and training the Inspectorate Department to modern standards in line with the vision and expectations of the new constitution and in line with the goals of a Metropolitan Nairobi. My government is undertaking a comprehensive review of the City by laws to be completed within the next six months.
