This workshop, a collaborative action of CANARI, CFNO CERMES UWI, PANOS and CRFM is aimed at building the capacity of regional and national Fisherfolk organisation networks to participate in fisheries governance and management through a Caribbean Fisherfolk Leaders Action Learning Group (ALG). This is done in the context of enhancing the capacity of the fisheries sector to contribute to food and nutrition security in the Caribbean. The workshop will feature sessions on topics on project planning, communication for policy influence, leadership, and articulating and building consensus on a role for small, artisanal fishers in food and nutrition security which will inform on policy. For more info contact: Terrence Phillip <terrence@canari.org> An opportunity for growth-oriented, innovative women entrepreneurs and business owners across the Caribbean: "Grow your Business (GyB) workshops, has been launched by the 'Women Innovators Network in the Caribbean' (WINC) as part of the infoDev/Canadian Governments 'Entrepreneurship Program for Innovation in the Caribbean' (EPIC). Building upon earlier WINC initiatives, these GyB workshops will allow select women entrepreneurs to review their current business strategy and adapt or change it for improved competitiveness. These workshops will be piloted initially in Barbados (16th-18th September 2013) and Jamaica (23rd-25th September 2013), with the aim of holding them on other islands where there is demand. Business Lab on Agribusiness Enterprises August 26th 30th 2013 Saint Vincent & the Grenadines This event is a collaborative effort of Israels Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT). The workshop will be a training of trainers event focusing on experiential learning and will provide trainers and young entrepreneurs with guidance and support to generate viable and creative ideas to assure new agribusiness enterprises. Therein an open for business entrepreneurial mind-setting process will be used as the approach to specifying business model and leveraging resources for enterprise development.
