The extensibility of the software lends itself to integration with other
applications extremely well. We will continue to push the envelope
showing what EOS has already integrated and how you can utilise these
integrations, scripts and reports in your own business. The mass of
reporting capabilities within Ostendo® will be reviewed, illustrating how
you can enhance your business monitoring.
Of course, we are always interested in your feedback and success
stories, especially if you are happy to share them with other Ostendo®

So you want your employees to enter their own data? Saving time and
reducing transposition errors
Ostendo® has always had the ability to create your own screens – but the
effort required far outweighed the effort, as it required specialist
knowledge of scripting and although functional the forms didn’t look very
attractive.
Development-X has married the graphical editor for workflows with the
scripting system to create Custom Data Screens.
These new custom data screens have some great features for your use.
Firstly the screens are created as a series of elements to lead the user
through a process, capturing the data relevant. Secondly, they can be
used on touch screens, thus allowing them to be valid in workshop
environments and counter tops where keyboards and mice have a short
lifespan. Thirdly, they have an on-screen keyboard built in and can be
used with barcode scanners.
The custom screens can be called from Workflow items so that you can
have even MORE control over how your employees work with Ostendo®
They can also be controlled by scripts to provide a full work process
functionality that an untrained operator can then use.
The opportunities for this type of process are numerous;
• in workshop time sheet capture
• self serve POS systems
• information kiosks

One Touch application integration.

Did you know? - You can start (launch) other applications from within
Ostendo®.
Custom Menu Links allow Ostendo® to start other Windows® applications
or files without having to activate the Start button so that quick access
to all your commonly used applications is a One Touch operation.
Upon creation of the first ‘Link’ record a menu heading called ‘Custom’
will appear on the top toolbar and the link will be displayed in the drop-
down list under it.
No scripting knowledge is required and you may add as many entries as
you wish.

The Point of Sale (POS) module in Ostendo® is often overlooked, being
dwarfed by the heavyweights of Inventory, Sales Orders, Job Orders, Job
Costing and Timesheet capture. However, the capability of the POS
module is fully featured, with Touch screen capability, Barcode reading,
Club Membership customer recognition and the capacity for a user-
defined button on the screen.
