5. Please read License Agreement and accept. Otherwise the installation will be stopped.
7. Setup Type Recommendation: Select CUSTOM INSTALL. Note: After rst time installation of Manual Guide i Simulator for PC the CNC selection can be modied. It is possible to add CNC types or to change CNC types.
8. If you have selected CUSTOM INSTALL the Select Components window pops up: EXE les have always to be selected.
Please select one of the CNC types: MB = Milling TB = Turning Recommendation: In the beginning select only one Milling CNC and/or one Turning CNC. Depending on display resolution of your PC, select Series CNC-type or Series CNCtype (no MDI Keys). For display resolution XGA (1024 x 768) select CNC-type (no MDI Keys)!

1. The Selection Machine Type window pops up. 2. A CNC-type can be selected and started depending on Series CNC-type selected during installation or modication.
3. Selected CNC-type will start up. 4. Select rst Edit-Mode or Auto-Mode. 5. The CNC-types are pre-set by FANUC Demo Programs Parameter Tool Settings Language = English
6. Exit Manual Guide i Simulator To exit the program click the power off button [O] on the operation panel.
3. The Select Components window pops up. Do CNC-type selection. Sample: Add Series 16i - TB. Click Next after selection. Attention: Never deselect EXE les!
5. After starting Manual Guide i Simulator again, modication result is displayed in Selection Machine Type window.
MemCard Folder
During installation of Manual Guide i Simulator a folder for data-exchange, the memcard- folder, is created.
This folder could be used for: CNC Program interchange with the CNC control Fixform data interchange Tool data interchange and for CNC parameter modications (see chapter: Customisation of Manual Guide i for PC)
Recommendation: If more than one simulated CNC-type is installed on your PC: Best to use this folder like a memcard. After data interchange with a simulated CNC-type, delete all les in memcard - folder, except From.dat. Attention: Never delete From.dat le
Parameter Setting The following is a description of the method of changing the parameters of Manual Guide i Simulator.
Standard Parameters Standard parameters are prepared in the folder .../STANDARD_PARA of the CD-ROM. All les are txtles and can be read and modied with text editor software, e.g. Microsoft wordpad: 1. 16M_CNC_PARA.TXT (Standard parameter for milling system Series 16i/18i/21i) 2. 16T_CNC-PARA.TXT (Standard parameter for turning system Series 16i/18i/21i) 3. 30M_CNC-PARA.TXT (Standard parameter for milling system Series 30i/31i/32i) 4. 30T_CNC_PARA.TXT (Standard parameter for turning system Series 30i/31i/32i).
Manual Guide i Simulator can read from the memory card drive folder after a standard parameter is edited, and change the setting of the Manual Guide i function. The method is explained using the following example of changing the language of Manual Guide i Simulator. Sample: Change Language for Series 16i-TB Language parameter is 14712 referring to Manual Guide i Operators Manual (B-63874)
1. Select le 16T_CNC-PARA.TXT from Manual Guide i Simulator CD: ...\standard_ para\.. 2. Copy le to folder ...\FANUC\MgiWin\memcard. 3. Rename the le to CNC-PARA.TXT.
4. Open le with text editor (e.g.: MS Wordpad). 5. Search for parameter 14712.
8. Start Manual Guide i Simulator. 9. Select the machine type you want to read the parameter and start.
Attention: Parameter text le and selected CNC-type must t together. For this sample please select Serie 16i-T or Serie 18i-T or Serie 21i-T.
10. Push P key on the keyboard at the same time as NOW LOADING MANUAL GUIDE i is being displayed while Manual Guide i Simulator is starting.

12. If Succeeded in loading the parameter is displayed, restart Manual Guide i Simulator.
