1.0 GENERAL
1.1 Introduction
This document is the Selkirk College approved operating manual for
the King Air B210. It is meant to complement, and should be used in
conjunction with the Selair SOPs. The information contained in this
document closely resembles that of a Super King Air B200, but some
significant system differences warranted the creation of a manual specific to
the Alsim flight training device. It contains relevant information regarding
operating limitations, systems, performance, normal and abnormal
procedures. This manual is designed to emulate the AFM of an actual
aircraft, however, in the interest of effective training some additional
information has been included.
If a conflict is found between this document and any other Selkirk College
reference materials please bring it to the attention of the Chief Flight
Instructor.

Notes:
Standard HSI model is to be used. If it is not already selected use EHSI mode to
set it.
Determine 400 agl and set on red (#2) altitude bug. IMPORTANT - if the
departure has a special restriction calling for initial climb to an altitude greater
than 400 agl set that instead.
Get the V1 and V2 speeds from the checklist and set them on the bugs as shown
above
Set autopilot to PF
Once the above flow checks have been completed use the Before Start checklist to double
check the most important items.
Your co-pilot will be obtaining the ATIS and setting up the radios, GPS flight plan, etc.
When you have received a radio setup briefing from the First Officer complete your
departure briefing, confirm no questions and announce Before start checklist complete
1. Avionics Master-Off
2. Rotating beacon-On
Complete start procedure per start procedure simulation and ALSIM SOPs.
3. External power- Disconnect
4. Generators-On
Once the PF is satisfied the generators are online and operating within limits s/he will call
After start checklist
Get the ATIS right away. If the weather is below landing minima check the
weather at the departure alternate.
Set red altitude bug to 400 agl unless a special altitude restriction is called for on
the departure procedure.
Set the white speed bug to V1 and the orange bug to V2. Obtain these speeds from
the TOLD card posted by the Captain.
