Safety, Safety, Safety: Riders, there have been several fatalities during road races this year RIP. All riders will be sorely missed, their passing must leave the legacy of improved riding in road races. If not then road races like not be permitted and the only racing will be circuit races. Riders, you MUST ride safely, do not ride dangerously, abide by the highway code at all times and have respect for all other road users. Hopefully they will reciprocate. Any rider caught riding dangerously will be immediately disqualified and possibly fined by the Chief Commissaire. Please help me make the first aid fee at this event be wasted money! Event Administration: The HQ for the Friday and Sunday stages is the Tidworth Leisure Centre, Nadder Road, Tidworth SP9 7QN. For the Saturday road race stage the venue has been moved to Test Valley School, Roman Road, Stockbridge, SO20 6HA using the Stockbridge Course. Parking at the Tidworth Leisure Centre on Friday before 17:30 is at the Leisure Centre car park, after this you will be directed to the Aspire Business Centre. The walkway from the Aspire Business centre to the leisure centre will be open to allow quick access to the centre entrance and registration. On Sunday all parking, less race convoy vehicles will be in the Aspire Business Centre. Team managers: In an effort to increase the profile of cycling within the UK teams are encouraged to provide team managers. Managers are encouraged to provide a team car in the convoy. Prerequisites for a Team Manager are a team managers endorsement on your BC licence and to have an HF radio in your car to listen to instructions on the BC channel. If you

intend to have a team manager in the convoy then please email the organiser at darrenclarke30@hotmail.com with your vehicle details so they can be added to the list. Feeding: Feeding is only permitted from the side of the road during road stages. During stage 2 the feed zone will be in the vicinity of the finish area only. During stage 4 the feed zone will be in the vicinity of the Upavon Golf Course. Race Convoy: The race convoy will consist of only: lead cars, Commissaires cars, First aid vehicles, Motorcycle outriders and any teams with a team managers car. Race convoy numbers will be unavailable at the race HQ each day and convoy vehicles are to line up in the allocated order. Drivers are to arrive in good time to ensure that they can have their radios fitted and a to allow a full comms check to be conducted. Race timings:

Rider Numbers: Disposable numbers have been purchased for the event, these will be issued at the start in the Individual Time Trial, riders are to retain their numbers for all remaining stages. Double numbers are to be worn at all times whilst racing on the lower back region,; it is the riders responsibility to ensure that their number is clearly visible. There is to be no modification of numbers, if done and a riders number is not observed at the finish then the rider will be deemed as a DNF on that particular stage. Signing On: Riders are to sign on prior to each stage, failure to sign on will prevent you from starting the stage. Dropped riders and retirees: Riders that are dropped from the peleton will be allowed to continue racing, where a rider is an excessive distance behind the bunch then they may be withdrawn 1 lap early at the discretion of the Chief Judge. They will then be allocated a finish time of their time that they are withdrawn plus 1 lap at average lap time. Riders who retire in a stage for whatever reason will be allowed to start all subsequent stages, they will however be withdrawn from the overall GC unless withdrawn by the Chief Judge. Leading the race:

The race leader will be the rider with the lowest cumulative time to cover the race distance. All races will be timed and any gaps of more than 1 second will constitute a separate group. The team award will be based on the lowest cumulative time of the top 3 riders in the team. Race leaders will be presented their race leaders jersey in the pre race brief. The leading teams will be presented yellow race leaders arm bands at the start of road stages.

The races:
Stage 1 ITT- This will be in a standard TT format with riders starting at 1 minute intervals, there will be 6 minutes interval between riders on the same team. Annex A shows the race start times for the ITT.
Course details: From the HQ at the TLC head out of the front gate and turn immediately right to x roads where turn left for 100 m to roundabout turn left, then after 50 metres fork right to Bulford. The TT start is outside the front of the Tidworth Oval. From the start follow the road straight past the Bulford ranges and into Bulford where turn RIGHT (caution you may need to stop on marshals direction) and follow Bulford Droveway until turn left onto the Bulford Road and up the hill, turn LEFT at the T Junction and ride between the barracks, showing caution at the pedestrian crossing. Follow the Tidworth road retracing your route where finish line is adjacent to the Tidworth Golf Club. On finishing retrace your route to the TLC. DO NOT STOP at the time keeper and ask for your time.

Stage 2 Road Stage This will be run as a normal road stage around the Stockbridge course. National B riders will start at 10:00, Regional B riders will start at 10:05.

Course details: From the Test Valley School riders will depart in a neutralized fashion through Stockbridge High Street to the roundabout at the end of the High Street. The peleton will take the second exit (B3049) and continue up the hill, through the finishing line and continue for approx 4 miles until turn left signposted Crawley, proceed through Crawley for approx 3 miles until you reach the A272 junction. Turn left at the junction and follow the A272 for approx 1 mile until you reach the A30 junction. Turn left at the junction and follow the A30 for approx 5 miles until you reach the roundabout on the Lechlade Lane. Take the fist exit at the roundabout and the first exit at the next roundabout (B3049) to restart a lap. The National B race will complete 5 laps, the Regional A race will complete 4 laps. Stage 3 TTT The 6 man TTT will be started with the Regional A teams starting first in GC reverse order. There will be 3 minute intervals in between teams starting. Regional A teams will start first followed by National B riders. The time will be taken for the 4th man to cross the finish line, all riders in the team will be awarded the team time, whatever time they finish. Those teams with an official team manager will be allowed to follow their team during the race, any drafting of riders however will cause team disqualification. Course details: From the HQ at the TLC head out of the front gate and turn immediately right to x roads where turn left for 100 m to roundabout turn right onto the A338. Follow this road for approx 1 mile to turn left onto the A342, follow this road for approx 1 mile to turn Right at Everleigh, the start is 50m on the left where you will see the starters. From the start head north on the Pewsey Road for approx 5 miles to descent on the Col de Pewsey MAJOR CAUTION ON DESCENT! Head into Pewsey where turn Left onto A345 towards Upavon. After 4

miles and on entering Upavon turn left at the garage towards Trenchard Lines, climb the hill and carry on the road through Everleigh to finish. After finishing carry on and turn right to get back to the HQ at the TLC. Stage 4 Road Stage This will be run as a normal road stage around the Upavon course. National B riders will start at 13:30, Regional B riders will start at 13:35 Course details: The course will be the same as the morning TTT with the race neutralized from the TLC to the junction with Everleigh, once all riders have crossed the right hand turn the lead car will come to a halt, check with the commissaries that all riders are present, once complete the lead car will start and the race will be de-neutralized. The finish line will be approx 1.5 miles north of the Everleigh junction. The National B race will complete 4 laps with the Regional A race only 3 laps.
