Installation Procedure
Use the illustration below as a guide. Note that your wire feeder may look slightly different. Consult your wire feeder's operator manual for more information. 1. Turn the input and output guide lock-screws counterclockwise with a philips screwdriver. 2. Loosen the spring tension knob and rotate the spring tension arm away from the pressure arm. 3. Rotate the pressure arm up to expose the output wire guide. 4. Remove the input and output wire guides. 5. Insert the new input wire guide into the hole in the left hand side of the feedhead assembly. The recessed end of the guide should be toward the wire spool. 6. Adjust the guide so that it is clear of the feed rolls and tighten the input guide lock-screw. 7. Install the output wire guide in the same manner, with the conical end toward the feed rolls. The tip of the conical end should be as close to the feed rolls as practical. Tighten the output guide lock-screw.
NOTE Before tightening the input and output guide lock-screws, install the drive roll to help in the alignment of the wire guides. The drive rolls in most models are removed by twisting the drive roll retainer cap and aligning the retaining knob splines/tabs with the drive gear splines. Drive rolls are installed by putting the drive roll onto the drive gear splines and twisting the drive roll retainer cap so that the splines/tabs rest against the face of the drive roll where they will click into place.
