Company was established at the time when miniaturization of electronic circuitry onto single silicon chip was and emerging business. In 1969 Intel released first product- Semi conductor static ram . The 4004 microcomputer set was introduced in 1971.It was worlds first microprocessor. Then 8008 was introduced with double the speed of 4004. Now microprocessors were used everywhere be it airline reservation, traffic lights, inventory management etc. In 1981 IBM chose 8008 as brains of its first PC. In 1982 they introduced 286 chip. Chinese culture is collectivist whereas western culture is more individualistic which led Tang (CEO) to see each individual rather than the overall team performance. This led to problems that Tang faced in establishing himself within his new role. Employees had a reason to suspect, resist and probe Tangs decision since he changed peoples roles as per his judgment. In 1997, a glitch was found in Intels Pentium chip. Intel denied any major problem, declaring it would only affect a tiny percentage of customers. They failed to take responsibility or replace the affected chips. The issue grew and It was only when IBMs declaration that it would not use Intel chips in its computers made the front page of the New York Times that Intel went back on its previous position and agreed to replace the chips. Even today, evidence can be found of how Intels poor response to online criticism has affected its reputation. Israel invested heavily in opening the door for Intel, but instead of leveraging the knowhow and resources that arrived to create a thriving industry, Intel has remained almost alone. Israel was not considered to be best site for production. There is no way to explain the failure to create an extensive Israeli electronics industry except as the lack of a suitable government policy.
