Residential Series water softener systems offer 4 sizes, with valve and controller options depending on system size, service needs or preference. System consists of a resin filter tank with mounted control valve and separate holding tank for the brine (salt) used in regenerating the system. The heart of each system is the Autotrol brand powerhead with valve and control that regulates all system operation automatically. After system size is determined, and service needs are known, recommendation of valve control model can be made with help of your dealer.

HOW SOFTENER TECHNOLOGY WORKS

CONTROL (VALVE): Powerhead with valve controls operation cycles automatically. Regeneration is set for 2:00 am in order not to interrupt household water use. RESIN TANK: made of wound fiberglass. All systems use Tenergy Brand top quality ionexchange resin for years of service.

Brine well assembly inside with draw screen and tube.

BRINE TANK: Regeneration of resin medium requires a salt solution (brine) that cleans the accumulated contaminants to drain during preset backwash cycles.

Key to the notations above: 1. Capacities are based on resin manufacturers' data and are dependent upon influent water TDS, temperature, bed depth, pressure, and flow rates. The raw water is to be free of oil, color, and turbidity. 2. All units are shipped from factory set at minimum capacity and minimum salt usage to afford a 40% salt savings. 3. Use the minimum capacity when sizing the installation to gain salt saving advantage. 4. Pipe sizes, tank sizes, and space requirements are in inches. 5. Allow additional headroom of 7-1/2 inches to remove cover of TT models. 6. Pressure drop at flow rates listed is less than 15 PSI. Units will handle 1 PPM clear water iron. Use iron filter on larger amounts.

The Autotrol 255 is a five-cycle, multi-port, non-corrosive Noryl plastic valve with highly accurate and reliable control options that provide regeneration on a pre-programmed basis. Once timing cycle is set, it delivers economical, fully-automated, smooth operation. Controller options include:

440 clock timer designed with direct-acting system functions independently of water pressure.

460i electronic demand control calculates conditioned water needs based on water use and saves substantially on consumption of both salt and water.

There is a

960 electronic demand control uses a more sophisticated microprocessor than the 460i to monitor daily water use and provide 17 programming parameters to satisfy any conditioned water need.
