The language bar is a tool by which you can choose different languages. You have to use the mouse to change the languages. The corresponding alphabets are displayed in the virtual keyboard. For example: You click Hindi. The corresponding alphabets will be displayed in the virtual keyboard as shown below. Moreover you will find the button Hindi highlighted. In addition you will need to select the Hindi layout you would like to use: Inscript, Remin* or Typewriter. In the Example below, you can now start typing in Hindi Remin (to change the language, click the other language)

Word editor is a place where you can type in letters, words, sentences and paragraphs in your own languages (languages in the list). You can type the information in more than one language.

3.1.3 Sending e-mails through webmail

Sending emails can be done through Compaq my bhasha portal. In the portal you can send e-mails with several webmail providers. Note. In order to view all characters in all supported Indian languages, the recipient should have either Windows Vista Operating system or Windows XP with complex scripts installed. INSTALLING COMPLEX SCRIPT The easiest way to install complex script would be by installing Compaq my bhasha. The second way would be to follow the below steps: 1. Go to the Control Panel. 2. Choose the Regional and Language Options. 3. Choose the Languages Tab and check the Install files for complex script as can be seen in the picture below:

5 Working with Other Windows Applications

Compaq my bhasha can work hand in hand with any Windows Application, such as Microsoft Office, Internet explorer, SQL, Notepad, Dreamweaver, etc This is simply done in 2 steps: Step 1:

Launch the application you want to use and make it active by placing the mouse cursor over it and clicking. Step 2:

Launch Compaq my bhasha and select the language you need, as can be seen in the picture below:
Click back on the application you're working with (MS Office, notepad, etc) and youre ready to type! From this point onwards, you will be able to write to the selected application with Compaq my bhasha in your chosen language.

5.1.1 Office 2007 configuration

In office 2007 there are new features: sequence checking and Type and replace.

Manual activation is used by users that purchased Compaq my bhasha offline. Manual Activation is done in the following way: Select Help and choose Manual activation as can be seen below:

Entering Activation Key
Compaq my bhasha activation key is valid only to the computer you made the purchase from. If you want to use Compaq my bhasha on another computer as well, you need to purchase another license for that computer. After purchasing the activation key it has to be entered to Compaq my bhasha in one of the following ways: 1. During trial time: a. Launch Compaq my bhasha. Note: In order to activate Compaq my bhasha in Windows Vista when UAC mechanism is enabled, youll have to run Compaq my bhasha as an administrator; This is done by right clicking on Compaq my bhasha icon and selecting the Run as administrator option as can be seen in the picture below:

b. After launching, Compaq my bhasha icon would be added to the notification area (the right side of the task bar). Right click on it with the mouse and choose activate like in the picture below:
c. Copy your activation key from the mail you got from us, paste it to the activation cell (like in the picture below) and press the Activate button.

7 Physical Keyboard Selection

To change the selection of your virtual keyboard Click on Display Menu Choose Keyboard type

Different characteristics are marked with different colors. Select the virtual keyboard which fits the characteristics of your physical keyboard. Make sure your selection fits the type of your physical keyboard. Upon selection of a keyboard form the list, the virtual keyboard shall match the physical keyboard which is defined.

8.2
Refreshing the Virtual Keyboard Display
Whenever the Operating System hibernates of enters into Screen Saver mode the application should be closed and reopened.
8.3
User Profiles
Profile menu consist of the flowing options: Open You may load any profile from a list of profiles. Save The User Profile saves the Virtual Keyboard display and the Virtual Hand Display settings. You may change the mentioned settings and save your preferred settings using the Profile Save command. Save As To create new profiles, you may use the Profile Save as... command.

9 Using Compaq my bhasha with a Webcam

In addition to the above mentioned features, Compaq my bhasha may be used along with a suitable Webcam, to provide simulated Virtual Hands, over the Indian languages virtual keyboard.
When using Compaq my bhasha with a Webcam which is located on the computer display monitor, the user will see Virtual Hands, displayed in a real-time simulation over the virtual keyboard. The virtual hands simulate in real-time the position and movements of the user's real hands, as detected and tracked by the camera. The physical keyboard as well as the specific positioning of the users real hands is scanned, in order to obtain the simulation.

The web cam needs to meet the following minimum requirements: At least 56 Degrees Field of View (FOV) Diagonal Resolution: 320 Horizontal X 240 Vertical (QVGA). Frame Rate of 30fps @ QVGA. USB Connection.

Camera Installation
You may use Compaq my bhasha with or without a camera When the camera is turned off or disconnected Compaq my bhasha supports Virtual Keyboards only, and not Virtual Hands. 1. Install your camera according to installation guidance provided with your camera 2. Connect the Web Cam to the computer. 3. Place the keyboard in the Web Cam's field of view.
9.2.1 Webcam Clipping

Different Webcams that meet the minimum system requirements can be clipped to the monitor in one of the following ways: 9.2.1.1 Using the Webcams Clip If the LCD screen depth is in between 1- 2.5 centimeters, you can simply clip it to the LCD. The picture below illustrates the Webcam Clipping method for 3 different standard webcams:

9.2.1.2 Using Two Sided Mounting Tape If for some reason the Webcams clip doesnt fit the LCD screen or if a CRT monitor is being used, you need to place the webcam on the screen and adjust it by using two sided mounting tape. The picture below illustrates the Webcam taping method for 3 different standard webcams.

Place the camera over the monitor, in the center of it. As necessary, use gluing accessories to make sure the camera is stable in the center of the monitor.

STEP 4: Create comfortable lighting
Compaq my bhasha image processing features need minimal lighting conditions to operate. If the room environment is too dark or to light, please control the inner and outer illumination to achieve a reasonable contrast between the hands and the keyboard, as described in the following picture:

CAMERA CALIBRATION PROCESS. After enabling the camera the following windows will appear:

Lets take a look over the Video source properties window:
In this window you can control over several camera properties and adjust the virtual hands presentation over the virtual keyboard. A step by step procedure is described blow (numbered as in the picture above):

1. Check the Vertical and Mirror Flip as well as the Color Enable options. 2. Uncheck the Auto Exposure option. The Exposure should be configured do display a picture as natural as possible: The Auto Exposure parameter
controls over the amount of light in the picture. The picture should not be too dark and not too bright.
The UBS Bandwidth parameter should be set to: Auto Enable. 3. Picture adjustments are made in this section. The virtual hands quality depends on these parameters. The colors should be set manually hence; you should uncheck the Auto Enabled option in the WhiteBalance section. Notice that the picture should be as close as it can be to the reality. Fine tune the picture with the following parameters:

Gamma. Brightness. Contrast. Sharpness in some cameras the sharpness can be changed manually.

Colors.
Note that the picture is not too red/blue or green and change as needed in the colors rheostat.
4. After reaching your desired settings please save the configuration as the default. You can reset the configuration as well.

You may choose the Refresh option for as many times as you wish.
Note, whenever keyboard clarity or virtual hands clarity is required please use the Refresh menu as described above. 9.2.2.6 Camera On/Off
To turn the camera signal to Compaq my bhasha On/Off, you may click on Camera Menu Enable Camera When the camera is turned off, Compaq my bhasha supports Virtual Keyboards only, and not Virtual Hands.

9.3
Keyboard Detection
Upon acknowledgment of Compaq my bhasha Video Properties, Compaq my bhasha will start detecting the physical keyboard. You will be asked to remove your hands from the keyboard. It will take less then a second for Compaq my bhasha to detect the keyboard.
Whenever the keyboard is not detected, you will be asked to check the position of the keyboard.

If keyboard is not detected twice you will be asked to choose between "manual detection" and working without virtual hands.
9.3.1 Manual Selection of Keyboard Corners

By selecting yes (Manual Selection) the following window will appear. Manual Selection is done by manually drawing the keyboard boundaries.

9.3.1.1 Possible Reasons for Unsuccessful Keyboard Detection Unsuccessful Keyboard detection may happen if one of the following environment parameters is missing: - Proper lighting conditions - Placing the keyboard parallel to the monitor. The keyboard manual detect feature was designed to give a solution for situations where the automatic detection mechanism cant determine the keyboards corners for sure. When the Keyboard Detection (Automatically or manually) is accomplished, you will be asked to put your hands over the keyboard for the Hands Calibration process.
9.3.2 Hands Detection

When asked, please put both hands as described below, and press the "6" key. Please note The Hands recognition algorithm identifies the entire scale of human hands colors only.

9.3.3 Virtual Hands Alignment

Note: whenever the keyboard was detected accurately the virtual fingers alignment should be accurate. Whenever you face improper alignment of virtual fingers the keyboard detection procedure should be reinitiated using the Refresh option (located under Camera).

10 Compaq my bhasha Vista Privileges

In Windows Vista the user may set on the User Account Control (UAC). The User Account Control helps to prevent unauthorized actions on the computer. Compaq my bhasha is a secured application which is Vista compatible and therefore, whenever Compaq my bhasha is launched while the User Account Control is enabled, the following message will appear:
The user will need to approve that he intended to run the application by clicking OK.

One Time Authorization:
1. Close Compaq my bhasha. 2. Right Click on Compaq my bhasha icon. 3. Select the Run as administrator option as can be seen in the picture below:
4. Select the continue option in the dialog that would be opened. Compaq my bhasha will have full administrator authorizations for this specific session.

Permanent Authorization:
1. Go to the directory in which Compaq my bhasha exe is located (usually it would be in: C:\Program Files\FTK\Compaq my bhasha\System).
Right Click on Compaq my bhasha exe file and select the Properties option as can be seen in the picture below:

2. Choose the Compatibility Tab and check the Run this program as an administrator as can be seen in the picture below:
3. Click OK.
From this point onwards, Compaq my bhasha will have no authorizations problems, regardless of the UAC configuration status.

Run From Startup
Vista guard mechanism might also prevent to load application on startup. In some cases, when Compaq my bhasha tries to load from startup youll notice that Compaq my bhasha will not loaded automatically and the following icon would appear in the Task Bar:
In order to launch Compaq my bhasha click on the icon, choose: Run blocked program and click on Compaq my bhasha Application.
