Attendance / Attitude Grade Students earn points per day for their attendance and attitude toward learning. Five points are earned for attending class on time; 2 points if the student is tardy. Five additional points may be earned for attitude; students receive these points for being in dress code, keeping electronic devices put away, and general classroom behavior. Breaking any of the codes of conduct may result in the loss of some or all of these points on any given day. The maximum number of points is 10 per day. These points make up 20% of your overall grade in the class. Quizzes Quizzes will be given after each chapter section, or occasionally after two sections. Each quiz usually has a total point value between 25 and 50. Quizzes make up 20% of your overall class grade. Tests Tests are usually given twice per chapter, and are worth a total of 100 points. Students who are unhappy with a test grade may take the test over within one week of the original graded test being returned to the student. The higher score is kept in the grade book. Once a test is started, it must be completed in the same session. Tests account for 30% of your class grade. Midterm/ Final Each semester has a final exam consisting of between 30 and 50 multiple choice questions selected from any and all of the topics covered in the semester. The final exam accounts for 10% of your overall grade. There are NO RETAKES of final exams. Any exceptions to these procedures will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
