LEADERSHIP
I. About leadership

People always think that leadership skill is being a leader or a boss in a group of people. However, we think that leadership is the skill that you need to be the leader of yourself before you become the leader of someone else. So we can describe leadership 1. Accepting responsibility for mistakes and wrong decisions. 2. Taking a positive attitude to and learning from failure. 3. Clarifying the problem and making logical decisions. 4. Persuading and motivating: creating enthusiasm to make things happen. 5. Presenting a positive personal image and being assertive. As you know, leadership skill plays a large role in career development. Often, your technical skills can only take you so far. Therefore, leadership skills are considered to be important traits which can help you get to the top of your career field. You're more as:

likely to be hired or get a promotion if you've been successful in leadership roles in your professional or personal life. II. Ways to practice leadership Nowadays, we live in a world where we are told that we are all leaders everyday we are capable of leading and so we grow up with huge ambitions of wanting to be like the great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Martin Luther King Jr. But how can you be a leader? Some people think that they can practice this skill by follow a teacher/professor or at least their boss. Because they think that when they do not know what to do as a leader of a team or a group, they love look to their teacher for answer who should know it. However, what happens if these people who are called teacher, professor do not know what to do too or the challenge faced is a new one and they do not have all the answers to deal with the situation. So we think that people should face difficult situation by themselves, they should try to solve problem. Adaptive leadership requires re-organizing our values and norms and looking at the challenges at hand and involving people to push real issues forward. Leadership is an activity it is not a title, it is the ability to mobilize people to address their own problems. Besides, people only take responsibility for what they help create so we have to empower people to know that they have the power to create their own realities. Adaptive leadership is a new way of tackling the worlds greatest challenges that we face in our workplaces everyday, It requires some character of people who will be vulnerable in acknowledging that you dont always know the answers, it requires people who are ready to say, I dont know how to tackle certain issues but believe in empowering the team to handle these issues collectively. Adaptive leadership also means that you will be dealing with loss, because it is a new way of tackling issues people will resist it. Always remember, people do not resist change people resist being forced to change. It is always a fear of what they might

lose in the process of change, so you have to be aware of that and know how to include everyone in the process. On the other hand, practicing leadership skill also means that you must practice some another skills: 1. Be a self-starter. At the very least, you should become the go-to, indispensable person in your little corner of the company. Do whatever it takeswhether it's classes at night, attending conferences, or starting a blog about your fieldto become a super authority on your job. The key here is to kick into self-starter modea major prerequisite to gaining leader status. It's not just about doing the job you're assigned, it's about starting your own side projects to keep practicing and mastering your skill. 2. Problem-solving. Being a leader means that you are the motive force in every work for you teammate to follow. Therefore, you must be the person who dare to accept challenge, deal with problem. Dont be shy to face your difficulties by yourself, dont afraid of losing because you know that you can push yourself to the limit to find out what your realities are. 3. Self-Regulation. The skill of self-regulation is the ability to control emotions that are counterproductive to achieving goals. Self-regulation is the skill used to control the moods, impulses, and emotions that can hurt relationships with coworkers. 4. Creativity for thinking outside the box. 5. Share your vision. Good leaders are visionaries. They have a vision for what they do. A powerful leadership skill is to share your vision with the rest of the employees. You make them aware of what you fundamentally believe in and there will be a lot of people, who are willing to help you. In conclusion, great people exercise great leadership skills, it is an action and not a position. Many of the people we think are leaders, maybe MDs, or CEOs just have positions of authority, they can use their power and resources to make things happen that does not guarantee them as leaders. Leader of yourself is more important than leader of someone else.
