The Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) is now offering Diploma professional courses. The PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA in ESTATE AGENCY which encompasses all the Modules as set by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA), aims to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills required to be a successful Registered Real Estate Agent in the real estate industry. The Modules which are taught by professionals and practitioners from the industry includes (though not limited to): marketing valuation taxation legal issues building technology agency practices

Professional Diploma in Estate Agency

The Professional Diploma in Estate Agency is awarded by Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents upon your successful completion of all set Modules as prescribed by BOVAEA (under the purview of the Ministry of Finance). This Award will not only open the door for your career progression but also offer you that unique opportunity to pursue further education leading to an Executive Bachelor's Degree and onward at IPD-OUM.

Programme Objective
Equipping our participants with the knowledge on how to become a Registered Real Estate Agent. Our participants will also be adequately prepared to take the Estate Agents Examination.

Entry Requirements
Minimum of MCE/SPM with passes in 5
subjects of which 3 must be at least at credit level. One of the credit level passes shall be either in Mathematics, Science, Accounts or Commerce. Pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent.

The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) that was set up in the 1970's is the recognized representative for all Registered Estate Agents in Malaysia. Initially known as the Malaysian Association of Real Estate Agents (MAREA), it was registered by the Registrar of Societies in 1977, and serves as the sole body responsible for the governance of Real Estate Agents in Malaysia. In 1984, the Association decided to transform its image from that of a trade association to a professional institute. However, the current name, Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) was adopted only in 1989. The institute's new official name reflects its professional image, focused on maintaining the standards of the profession. Given its fast growing membership, branches have been set up in Penang, Perak, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak.

MIEA remains committed to providing quality training, education and tutorials for persons practicing or intending to practice as Estate Agents, or who are otherwise already engaged in the profession.
