• Participated in National Symposium on “Recent Trends in Microbial

Biotechnology” sponsored by Department of Science and Technology,
Govt. of India, New Delhi and conducted by Sri Sankara Arts and Science
College, Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu during 30th & 31st December 2005.

• Participated in the 5th National Conference of Indian Association of

Applied Microbiologists on “Emerging Trends and Evolving Technologies
in Applied Microbiology with special reference to Microbial
Nanotechnology” and presented a poster entitled “Psychrophiles and
their by products” sponsored by CSIR, New Delhi and TNSCST,
Chennai and organized by Department of Microbiology, Sri Sankara Arts
& Science College during 11th & 12th January 2007.

• Presented the paper on “GENE REGULATORY NETWORK” (National

Level Seminar on Biotechnology Evolution and Revolution).

various environmental and clinical samples, Plasmid and Chromosomal
DNA isolation, Restriction digestion and ligation, Water analyses,

BIOFLO-110, USA- Biofermentor, Waters Breeze HPLC equipped with
C18 reverse phase column and UV dual wavelength detector, Bio-Rad
model - 680 microtiter plate reader.
• Other tools and instruments operated: UV-visible spectrophotometer, Gel
Documentation System Paper, Thin and Column chromatography, Agarose
and Polyacrylamide gel Electrophoresis, Lyophilization.
• Molecular biology techniques: - DNA isolation, Polymerase chain reaction
(PCR), DNA sequencing, DNA amplification, southern hybridization,
northern hybridization, western blotting.
• Immunological tests: - Blood grouping (ABO and Rh typing), RPR test for
Syphilis, WIDAL test for typhoid, detection for rheumatoid arthritis and C
reactive protein, ASO, pregnancy by latex agglutination, Double
Immunodiffusion by Ouchterlony technique
