During construction of the lesson plan, I felt that there are a lot of factors that needs to be improved.

The most important factor that I felt very crucial is the behavioral objectives that need to be achieved at the end of the lesson. I have learnt that behavioral objectives must be written in the form of verbs as well as not cognitively related. This is so that the lesson itself will be able to be conducted with the aims of achieving its objectives for the pupil, in other words a learner-centered teaching and learning process. The class starts with the set induction in which the teacher recalls back the animal that the students know through their previous knowledge. After that, the teacher displays flashcards of the farm animals. The teacher then reads the lyrics and asks the students to read aloud in which the teacher then sings the song with the pupils. The teacher then demonstrates the actions of the song and the pupils will follow. The students will then be divided into three groups and compete among each other to sing the song. Finally, the teacher consolidates what have been thought throughout the lesson.

Objectives The lesson plan must be specific, measureable, achievable, realistic, and timebased to achieve the objectives of the lesson. I felt that the lesson plan that was going to be conducted should measure on all aspects of this SMART theory. For, example, the objectives of the lesson must be specific so that the teacher himself will not be going out of topic as well as not achieving the goals set for the lesson. This may also be related to the activity conducted in the lesson in which it should be specific. This is so that the pupils will be able to relate to the lesson as well as going to be able to accurately follow the lesson conducted by the teacher. The lesson plan should also be measureable and achievable in which the pupils should measure up to the objective stated. I have learnt that the activities that will be conducted should meet up to the

pupils level itself. The activities must not exceed the pupils level of difficulty as to achieve the target set by the teacher. Other than that, it must also be realistic in a way that the teacher knows that his own pupil will be able to achieve the goals set. I have learnt that the teacher must be able set a standard for his own pupils. For example, I must ask these to myself, is it too hard for the pupils? Will it be too easy for them? These questions act as a foundation for the lesson plan so that I will not implement a lesson plan that is of no use.

Strengths In the implementation of my lesson plan, I have been able to engage with the pupils. During the set induction, the students were very excited when they heard about farm animals as they can relate to their daily lives. This is because farms are usually found in rural areas as they are the source of food and income for some community. For example, buffaloes, goats and ducks and chickens. When the activities were conducted, they were very eager to sing for the title of the best group because young children has competitive spirits inside them. Moreover, the pupils were also able to express

themselves in front of the class. The song that I have chosen is also very suitable for the children of their level because the song uses simple lyrics which also rhymes with the melody. Other than that, the pupils are also very interested in the lesson because they are attracted to the colourful pictures of the farm animals. I have also successfully engage all pupil in the class to participate in the lesson when conducting the activity. For example, even the slowest and those that are very shy are able to participate in this lesson.

Weaknesses

During the implementation of the lesson plan, I felt that there are a lot of factors that needs to be repaired. Perhaps the most important thing that needs to be improved is the materials and preparations for the lesson plan itself. I have learnt that the materials used need to be big so that the pupils can see clearly from afar. For example, instead of using A4 sized paper for the pictures, manila cards should be used instead so that the pupils can see very clearly from afar and engage in the lesson. Another aspect that needs to be improved is the language command and instructions. I have learnt that the teacher needs to be clear of his instructions as well as giving the correct order without errors. This is so that the pupils will not be confused on what the teacher will tell them to do. Moreover, I have also learnt that as a future teacher, I should learn the instruction language of the class as well as improving my proficiency in my language command. This is because during some part of the lesson, there is a slight slip of tongue in which I accidentally used Malay in my lesson. In some cases, I had to use Malay as the pupils did not understand me very well. This may be due to the fact that the school is in a rural area and that the proficiency level of English among pupils are very low. As a conclusion, I have learnt many approaches in the implementation of the lesson plan and should be able to improve on myself. I am also very proud myself as I can finally teach in front of the pupils with an appropriate lesson plan. Last but not least, this microteaching acts as a catalyst for me to be a better teacher in the near future.
