Important Note for Windows 98SE and Me Because some computer hardware may cause system hangup when the MCERICOH XP automatically identifies card types and this problem cannot be avaoided unless disabling the Automatic card identification, the MCERICOH XP uses Manual card detection at default. You must first select a Slot/Socket number where you wish to use the memory card before using the MCERICOH XP first time. If you select a slot/socket with another type of PC Card, the MCERICOH XP may interrupt the communication or services provided by that card. So, be sure to select a correct slot using [Setup] - [Slot Priority and Card Detection] menu.

Important Note for Windows 2000 Because Windows 2000 does not report types of PC Card in sockets, MCERICOH XP disconnects communication through I/O cards (e.g., Modem, Network, SCSI etc.) when it scans types of cards in PC Card slots. To avoid this, you must exclude the slot(s) with I/O card(s) when you start the MCERICOH XP. This will prevent the MCERICOH XP from scanning the "Excluded" slots.

Note: You first select the number of slots, then select slot(s) to include. The number of slots means the number of physical PC card slots your computer has. If you check the "Do not show this screen at startup" checkbox, you do not see this screen at startup. Use this checkbox only if you use the fixed slot(s) for programming card(s). If you wish to change the slot(s) to use after you have disabled this screen, you need to access the [File] - [Settings] menu and change the setting. [Go to Top]
