Air ticket Traveling expenses for MEXT Scholarship students will be paid in the form of one-way economy class air ticket with international airlines to travel from the international airport nearest to your residence in your country to Narita International Airport or to an international airport Kagoshima University normally uses for international routes. We and a travel agency will contact you around the middle of July to arrange your flight. Your travel grant does not cover local flight in Japan, hotel charge, airport usage fees and

airport tax. You will be asked pay those fees by yourself when you receive an invoice from the travel agency through us. Please note that after your arrival in Japan, you will be requested to submit all boarding stubs of the flights to the International Student Office of the university. You should pay attention to the following: If you alter the airline ticket or if you do not use the airline ticket that is arranged by MEXT to come to Japan, you will have to cover your own traveling expenses. 4. Airport pick-up services You will meet your tutor, your supervisor or a staff of the university at Kagoshima Airport. Please contact us about the transportation arrangements. Dormitories The international student office will reserve a furnished single room in the International Residence Hall. It contains a bed, a desk and chair set and drawers. You are allowed to live there for up to 6 months. After 6months, you have to look for private accommodation yourself. Any extra requests like changing type of room, changing building, etc cannot be accepted under any circumstances. As there is limited family room available at the International Residence Hall, it is extremely difficult to secure accommodation for students accompanied by their family. Most students who wish to live with their family have to look for private accommodation outside of the university themselves. It is advisable to bring your family to Japan only when you have found accommodation after arriving in Japan. Reject the scholarship If for any reason you need to reject the scholarship, you are required to notify us promptly.
