GALATIANS 2:20
We believe
You matter to God. Heaven and Hell are real. Jesus, Gods Son, died because of your sin, and rose again. When you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are saved. The Bible is true and relevant for your life. The Holy Spirit will give you the power to live a life of victory.
Transethnicity We are a church that intentionally seeks to transcend our cultural and ethnic differences by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Often I think metaphorically. One evening I had a vision of God and me riding in a car together. I was driving and He was in the back seat, along with many other symbolic things of value in my life. God then asked me the question, Am I Lord of your life? I quickly responded, Of course, God. But as silence filled the car, so did my conviction, and I pulled the car over to rearrange the objects of value, inviting God to Pastor Liam sit up in the front seat. As we pulled back onto the road of life, I felt pretty confident and proud of myself until, yet again, I was asked the question by God, Am I Lord of your life? And once again I responded, Well, of course. After all, He was sitting shotgun. I couldnt imagine what more I could do. I had allowed Him into my car, and not just that, but He was in the front seat! When I asked what more could I possibly do to allow Him to be Lord of my life, He responded, Give me the car keys. I was struck with immediate fear. But God, that means that if I want to turn left and You want to turn right, then we go right. If I want to listen to this and You want to listen to that, then we listen to that. And if I want to pull over here but You want to continue to drive to there, then we keep driving! He responded, Yes, my child, thats right; thats what it means to allow me to be Lord of your life. What could more adequately sum up the idea of it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me than the choice to give God the car keys to your life? I pray today as we meditate upon this verse, that we all find the courage to live by faith and trust the One who gave Himself for us.
Welcome, guests!

A service to celebrate Benjamins life was held Tuesday, February 7th. The family has set up a memorial fund called Healing Hearts for Benjamin in his honor. Its purpose is to continue his legacy by using his life, his battle, and his victories along the way to help other children born with the extremely rare combination of Down Syndrome and a single ventricle heart. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to this fund. For more information, visit: www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
New Life Providence Church (NLPC) encourages all who know the Lord and who share the vision of this ministry to consider becoming church members. Membership provides many wonderful benefits and has reasonable responsibilities. Membership is open to those age 18 and older. It is a simple process. Discovery Seminar, a fast-paced, on-point event, is offered three times each year. Discovery is required for all those seeking membership in order to understand the history, values, and practices of our church. To streamline the process, the Discovery Seminar is scheduled in two parts: an all-day Saturday portion (a light breakfast, lunch, and childcare provided), plus the Sunday evening one week later. Brochures with more details and registration forms are available at the information center. The next Discovery Seminar will be March 3rd & 11th. To
allow us to plan for childcare and meals, pre-registration is required. PRAYER BULLETIN GLITCH
We are currently correcting a glitch in our Providence Prayer Bulletin email distribution list in which several hundred addresses were accidentally removed. If you have received the prayer bulletin in the past or would like to begin receiving it, please fill out the information in the box on the back of your attendance card to help us in reconstructing the list. Thanks for your help!
MENS BREAKFAST
The next mens breakfast will be on Saturday, February 18th, 8:00 AM, at the NLP Kempsville auditorium. Pastor Brian Weaver will speak on the topic: Empowered to be an Impact. Haiti May 18-25: Touch lives powerfully as you minister to displaced families and orphaned children and work in local outreaches. Opportunities include: working with children, service work, evangelism, and prayer for the sick and those who desperately need hope in a time of great crisis.
Tanzania May 14-27: This team will provide support to pastors in a very unreached tribal people group. They will use stories, drama, house-tohouse visits, and the Jesus Film to present the gospel. There will be training of a small group to do the dramas that have been prepared. The group will minister to the Sonjo tribe (only a few hundred believers out of 32,000 people), who live near the great Serengeti Plain. East Asia June 1-11: The purpose of this trip is to initiate friendships and strengthen existing relationships with minority people groups in a new region where work will be launched in the coming year. Activities may include conducting informal English language camps or conversation corners, village visitation and cultural exchange, serving as ambassadors of friendship to those we meet, and intercession on behalf of the people and region to which we travel. Contact team leader Doug Chandler for more details about the nature and destination of this trip. Your trip will forever change your life!
