2014 BUDGET (9-01-2014 DRAFT) Category
Daily Sack Lunches: 6/30 - 8/07 6 weeks at main distribution site (most likely Skelly Elem.)

Analysis
Expand to 5 days a week: Monday - Friday. Estimated average of 70 kids per day) 70 kids x 5 days/week x 6 weeks = 2100 lunches Each lunch sack includes: 1 LockerMate or LunchBreak lunch ($2.10/ea.) 1 milk carton ($ .10/each) 3 extra goodies (e.g., pudding, cereal bar & raisins (total of $ .50 for 1 of each) Estimated average of 35 children per day at 3 mobile sites, Monday - Friday, 30 mins. per site 35 kids x 3 sites x 5 days x 6 weeks = 3150 lunches On Fridays kids to take home 1 meal box for the weekend. Estimated average of 200 kids each Friday at main site + 3 mobile sites 200 kids x 6 weeks = 1200 boxes (use lunches at $2.10/each if meal boxes not available) Note: Need Based Weekend Foodpacks in 2013 cost about $7/each when using a Ready to Eat Kids meal box + 2 LockerMates or MealBreaks + 3 goodies. Food transported weekly or semi-weekly to Towanda distribution site to be handed out by local volunteers. Estimated 40 kids x 6 meals/wk x 6 weeks = 1440 lunches (extra lunch on Friday might be a Kids Meals Box ). For packing lunch sacks, ears of corn, etc.: about 3500 - 4000 (we have 1500 on hand); FoodBank provides. In 2013, Food Bank donated nectarines & corn on the cob. Donated by Numana Gardens; cleaned & packaged by LunchBoxers & volunteers. In 2014 KN2E provides zip lock bags & plastic aprons, total estimated cost approx. $100 In 2013, NI donated 360 bags (6 servings/bag = 3240 servings), estimated value of $ .30/serving $972. Used in kitchen when packing fresh produce. Numana donated in 20013; have hairnets left over. Approx. $750. If our target population is kids ages 18 and under, then baby food is needed for those ages 6 mo. = 16 mos. The Food Bank doesnt carry baby food. In 2013, the First Baptist Church had donated funds to purchase baby food (& maybe will do that again in 2014). This is a strong incentive for parents with small children to bring them for a lunch sack. Fortunately, we can obtain them for free in 2014 from the GIV Warehouse. Purchased via the Food bank using donated money for El Dorado LunchBox: 50 signs + toppers with bus info. FoodBank has large used blue banners we can use.
