In todays Gospel, Jesus describes several images
about a wise builder and a strategic king who
prepare for their tasks at hand. In todays world, we are
encouraged to plan for our future retirement, including a will and
estate planning. How well are you working on the retirement plan
that matters the most the one after this life on earth is ended?

Reminder: Building Hours during semester
Through the Fall Semester, the UCC building hours will be 9:00am
to 9:00pm Monday-Friday. As in the past, the parking lot doors will
be locked at 5:00pm. If you are coming to the UCC after that time,
please use the front doors, which are open through 9:00pm. The
exception to the rule is evening in which we are hosing a speaker or
program. For such community-wide activities, the parking lot doors
will remain open.
BE SOMEONEs Friend
Come join a group of volunteers who make people
happy! On Sunday mornings we carpool to our
sister community at the Austin State Supported
Living Center (a residential facility for people who
are mentally handicapped). We accompany
residents to a Catholic prayer service we hold in the Chapel. Many
of these folks are in wheelchairs and could not come to church
without us. For more information, please sign up at the UCC Front
Desk, email AustinLivingCenter@utcatholic.org, or call Kathy
Hackett at 512-928-1776.
Do you like working with kids?
Then the Childrens Religious Education (RE) program here at the
UCC would love your help. We need teachers, assistant teachers,
and helpers for our Sunday School classes and Childrens Liturgy
program. This is a great way to share you faith with the next
generation and have some fun too. Please contact Julie Ulrich at
re@utcatholic.org if you are interested!

FR. ISAAC HECKER QUOTE
All that the soul can ask, and what ought surely
to be granted, is to follow faithfully the
invitations of grace and the impulses of Gods
Spirit. If the soul is guided by the Holy Spirit, it
would not do the least thing contrary to faith or
the church, for we are taught inwardly by the
Holy Spirit and outwardly by the holy
church in the same grace. [Spiritual
Notebook, 1854]
