B2. Project startup and organization

Default project extension Reconstructor projects are saved with the extension .recprj Old projects are fully compatible with the current version. Open the tutorial project to start software testing.

Main windows Viewing parameter windows: to set up the viewing parameters (Ctrl+V)

Project window contains all the project items, imported items or items with data created during the processing Property window: to set the properties of each project item imported or created Read out window: to know the coordinates of 3d points Pressing the C button, the coordinates are copied in the clipboard

Adjust pose window: to edit position and orientation of the objects (i.e. points, meshes, planes)

Log window: messages about software status

Point list window: for points selection and editing. With the selected points several actions are possible (distance and angle calculation, surface and volume, scan registration. ALT + double click will select a point

Project contents

A project is organized in items (e.g. clouds, meshes), grouped in the folders of a tree structure
Annotations: Distance, angles, annotation Cameras: Plane. Spherical, perspective and cylindrical views. Calibrated images Cross sections Flythrough: trajectories for video Grid point cloud: cloud of point from scans Group: all type of files organized in a group Planes Polylines: from edges, sections or draws Triangle meshes: mesh created or imported Unstructured Point Clouds: un-organized cloud of points User coordinate systems: user-defined coordinate systems to index the whole 3D virtual world Press here to re-set the view

It is possible to look for an item in the project tree with the following syntax: Folder|.|Item Name

Tree items organization

It is possible to create subfolders to organize the data in new groups, all the tree items in the project window can be moved in a new group via the commands copy and paste (right mouse button)
