About Carol Priest

Carol Priest Natural Cosmetics began in 1991 as a small New
Zealand family company, specialising in the formulation,
manufacture and marketing of herbal skin care products. To
ensure they remain fresh and retain their beneficial properties,
each product is handprepared in small batches. This small-scale
production means we can be flexible and innovative, offering
you the latest developments in natural skin care as they
become available.
Each product contains a unique and simple blend of proven

botanicals. No mineral oils are used. Instead, oils and emulsifiers
extracted from plants act as carriers for the principal ingredients.
All colours are derived from natural sources. Synthetic

fragrances, responsible for most allergic skin reactions, have
been replaced with the subtle, natural fragrances of
unadulterated essential oils. It is this careful selection of the
purest ingredients that ensures a natural and professional range
of skincare products, unrivalled for freshness, quality and
impressive results.
About Our Natural Products

Many skin and body care products claim to be ‘natural’ or
‘contain natural ingredients’ or even have the word ‘natural’
as part of the product name. In fact, very few products on the
market today are truly natural - most contain at least some
artificial ingredients. This suits mass-production, and enables the
cost of production to be minimized.
Real natural products need to be preserved naturally, which is

hugely problematic, and is the primary reason that most skin
care ranges cannot be described as natural. Unfortunately, the
use of the word ‘natural’ is not closely regulated in the same
way as the word ‘organic’. Consumers, therefore, need to be
particularly vigilant when selecting a skin care product if they
value ‘natural’. All ingredients should be displayed on the label
and be easily identified as being of natural origin.
Our product range is truly natural. This has necessitated sourcing

raw material from throughout the world, including New
Zealand, to ensure that purity, naturalness and quality are of the
highest order. However, ‘natural’ also refers to the production
process which in our case involves preparing by hand each
product in small batch lots.
Regardless of what advertisers and labels claim, users of genuinely natural products know the
difference.

About Organics
A lot of personal care products describe themselves as 'organic',
but few of them are. Unless they carry the logo of a recognized
certification authority, you can be sure that the product isn't
what you'd think of as organic. Some may contain a few
organic ingredients, some may contain none at all.
The rules for the organic labelling of personal care products has
taken a long time to catch up with those for foods. In Europe
the rules are stricter than in Canada and the US, and the UK Soil
Association was one of the first organizations to lay down rules
for personal care products.
The Carol Priest products described as organic are all certified

by the New Zealand Biological Producers and Consumers
Council (BioGro), which has been New Zealand's leading
certification organization since 1983. These products carry the
BioGro logo, and are made to the highest organic standards,
using certified organic ingredients.
About the Intense Range

The Carol Priest Intense range of day and night facial
treatments includes preparations of Damask Rose, Bitter Orange
and Jasmine, and most of them are certified organic.
Damask Rose oil is the most precious of all essential oils, and is
renowned for its cell regenerative and skin care properties. It is
widely used in the treatment of skin problems due to its
antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent qualities, helping
to alleviate dryness and itchiness of sensitive and inflamed skin.
Bitter Orange flower oil, also known as Neroli, is distilled from

the fragrant petals of orange blossoms and has a fresh, delicate
floral fragrance. It stimulates circulation and assists with the
reduction of facial capillaries. It has been chosen for its fresh,
delicate warm but sweet floral fragrance and for its cell
regenerative properties.
Jasmine is known for its delicate and captivating fragrance and

its sweet, star-shaped white flowers. The best jasmine oil is
obtained from the flowers that are collected at night, when
their aroma is intense. It tones dry, oily, irritated and sensitive
skin, increases elasticity and is often used to assist with stretch
marks and to reduce scarring.

Almond and Lemonbalm Facial Scrub

Skincare, Deep Cleanser For all skin types.
A gentle deep cleansing protein-rich exfoliant.
The smooth nut paste consistency is prepared using
ground blanched almonds and essential oils of red
manuka, lemongrass, lemonbalm, gum benzoin resin and
pure distilled water to safely and gently remove daily build-
up of dead skin cells and impurities. This stimulates the skin
to produce new healthy cells, leaving it feeling clean and
revived.
Can be left on as a rich protein mask treatment.

Use
To benefit fully from any further care your skin must first be clean and free from all traces of impurities.
Make a warm compress using a clean wash cloth, and apply it firmly to the face and neck areas for a
few minutes. This soaking helps the aromatic essential oils and plant oils dissolve and soften skin waste.
Apply a small quantity of cleanser to your face and neck and massage using small circular motions
with enough water to produce a creamy lather. Remove the emulsion using a warm damp wash
cloth. Rinse the last traces by splashing warm water over your face and neck. Finish with a cold
compress. No need to towel dry.
For very dry skin remove all traces of make-up and impurities with the Relaxing Facial and Body
Massage Oil. Rinse.

Avocado Fruit Moisture Cream

Green Clay Mask with Herbal Oils

Skincare, Deep Cleanser For all skin types.
A deeply purifying and cleansing mask. Fresh herbs such as
peppermint leaf have been blended with herbal oils and
green clay to refresh and tone the pores.
Clays have absorbed the sun and plant materials of the
earth over thousands of years and have rejuvenating and
anti-ageing effects on the skin. Green clay is the finest of

Jasmine Flower Toner

Skincare, Toner For normal to oily skin types.
Jasmine is an evergreen, fragile, climbing shrub. It grows
up to 10 meters high, has dark green leaves and small
white star-shaped flowers. These flowers are picked at
night, when their aroma is most intense. The therapeutic
properties of jasmine oil are anti-depressant, antiseptic,
aphrodisiac, anti-spasmodic, expectorant, parturient,
sedative and uterine. It is very valuable in cases of severe
depression, soothing the nerves, producing a feeling of
confidence, optimism and euphoria, while revitalizing
and restoring energy.

Jasminum Grandiflorum Facial Lotion - intense

Skincare, Essence Lotion For normal to oily skin types.
An easily absorbed intensive treatment pure plant
nourishing and hydrating moisture fluid for normal to oily
skin types.
It contains up to 15% pure Certified Organic Jojoba Oil.
Jojoba Oil is the main component of this formulation.
Chemically it is similar to sebum oil that our skin produces
and because it is not chemically an oil it is easily absorbed
and is ideal for sebum control or for those prone to oily
and sensitive skin. It also promotes the healthy growth of
new skin cells, moisturizes softens and protects skin and
helps revitalise and restore balance to oily skin. It also

The balsamic resin extract from the bark of the Styrax
