Railway Signalling Design System

Smart DesignSmart Checking

1.0

Virtually Error Free Designs

RSDS extends Bentley Systems Microstation V8 CAD to bring you a customised Railway Signalling Design Package. RSDS automates the tedious, error prone tasks of generating analysis sheets for contacts, fuses, terminal and power looping getting them right first time every time. It flags inconsistencies, double allocation, incorrect contacts and most other drafting errors.

Faster, more accurate signalling circuit design Ensures your Microstation designs are free of most drawing errors Automates tedious and error prone manual checking Automates contact analysis Automates fuse analysis Automates terminal analysis Automates power loop analysis Eliminates most errors in rack layout Eliminates open segments in wiring Now with full support for WESTRACE Enforces consistent design

Creates a Complete Book of Signalling Circuits

RSDS designs local areas (locations, relay rooms, etc) as separate projects. Each has individual analysis and reports. A core plan showing all required cables Main cables, signal cables, track circuit cables etcintegrates all local areas into an overall project. System wide validation confirms all cables, all interfaces and connections are consistent.

Datasheet 10E-3

Description
Automate checking and analysis of freewired relay and WESTRACE circuits and installation designs with RSDS. RSDS adds Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) assistance to a basic drafting package. RSDS enforces drawing consistency with standard library cells for all components.

System Wide Management

RSDS includes all system and file management facilities necessary for a multi-person team to work simultaneously on a system design.

Ordering
Please discuss your requirements for RSDS licences with us. We tailor licensing to customers specific needs and this may include:

Specifications
System Requirements IBM compatible PC, including: P4/600 or later processor; 256 MB RAM; 20 MB Free space on hard disk; CD & Floppy Drives; Windows NT4, XP or 2000; Microstation V8; Network drives, backup etc.

Local Area
Signal Engineers commence with the design of locations (location case, relay room or similar). An installation can have many locations designed separately. RSDS assists during the design with:

number of licences; software maintenance options; support options; training; assistance with preparation of cell library, seed files and system set-up.

relay type and package checking; relay connection function checking; relay rack design and component
placement;

terminal block allocation; bus bar and fuse allocation; power looping.
RSDS quickly and accurately generates analysis sheets on demand including:

termination analysis; fuse analysis; wire schedule report. Core Plan

A single core plan ties all local area designs for checking and system wide analysis. The core plan includes every cable in the project from multi-core cables between locations to individual wiring to signals, points and tracks. RSDS checks the core plan against rules and reports errors. All functions in the core plan populate a data base for later verification of the interconnection between the local areas.

Reports Relay reports, including: all relays used in the project; count of each type of relay; relay contact usage; relay back proving contact usage; Fuse and Bus Bar reports, including: all fuses used in the project; all bus bars used in the project; Label generation (for Thermofit
Marker System), including: Rack labels; cable core labels.
