THE DAY-DATE II PARAFLEX After spending years developing and perfecting the Rolex movement, entrusting it to a standard shock-absorption system was never a consideration. Traditional springs within shock-absorbing systems may not be strong enough. If the spring opens, the consequence is immediate: the watch stops. Determined to build the most dependable timepiece possible, Rolex engineers created a new shock-absorption system: a patented technology named Paraflex. The design of the Paraflex spring improves resistance to shocks by up to 50% and improves the life and dependability of the movement itself.
