0 APPRECIATION First, I would like to thanks my lecturer, Madame Flory Juliana for giving some briefing on the assignment. Not only that, Madame Flory Juliana is so dedicated in explaining how to complete the assignment. She guides us on how to make a good narrative essay by listed down all the point need. This helped us a lot because we know how to elaborate the point. Not to forget my friends. Thanks to them because they willingly helped me in order to complete this assignment. They also work hard in order to make me understand the process of doing the assignment. Even though I am a bit slow compared to others, they still want to help me. I am really lucky to have such good friends. Thanks goodness because I could finish up the tasks given. Last but not least, I would like to thanks to all because lend me their hand and everything. No more word that can I say to all. Just sincerely from me, thank you all.

2.0 NARRATIVE ESSAY The Beginning Is Not An Ending Damak is an orang asli kid came from the interior Pahang. He lived at Kg. Suka near to Sg. Tembeling, Pahang. He is the best student in his primary school. He went to school with sampan. Even though it is take a long times for him to go to school, he still did not give up and work hard on his study. He is the first son out of his nine siblings. His father always said that education is very important in order to change their life. He has a very loving and patient mother. His mother names Mak Cik Gaya. His mother is a fully housewife. Mak Cik Gaya is a mother that always advices all of her children to study hard. However, after his father passed away, his mother started do handmade craft for sale. His mothers handmade will be sold to the villagers and to the Tauke Yap who came from town to collect them from Mak Cik Gaya. Tauke Yap is a friend of his father. He will come once in two weeks. He also brings some foods from town together with the selling money. Mak Cik Gaya is has a very high discipline in saving money. She will save at least half or quarter from the selling money in case there is anything emergency comes up. When Damak in the secondary school, his performances getting worst. He rejected the offer from the boarding school. He always create problem at the school. He turns like that since his father die. He cannot face the fate that his beloved father has gone. His father died on the last day he took the UPSR examination. After finish the exam, he came back home and saw his father dead body. His father dies because of snakes bite. He is very regret as he was not there for his father. Since that day, he lost courage and determination on study. Damak always loitering with his friends and did not go to school. His mother become so worry and till the blood pressure rises. Mak Cik Gaya also faces with an illness due to tiredness. She also has problems with her heart. Damak did know about it. He was so afraid that he will lose his mother. Damak went to school just to eat, get stuff for free such as school uniform, shoes, and other things that government prepared for orang asli student. Damak sold all the stuff that he got to get some money from it. He used the money for gambling among his friends to earn much more money to buy his mothers medicine. Deep in his heart actually, he really wants to save his mother. But, he did in a wrong way. He never shows his actually feelings or his intention to his mother.

His other siblings work hard on their study and three of them were in boarding school with full scholarship from government. When Damak is in Form 3, he did not sit for his PMR examination because he refused to go to school. Along his exam week, he stayed close to his mother and did all the house chores and also took care of his sibling that is still in primary school. Luckily, the other four siblings are the girls and the youngest one is a boy. So, it is not too difficult to handle all of them. Damak never stayed away from his mother and left her alone. He felt guilty as his mother caught him during gambling while the rest of his friends taking extract air ketum and they got drunk. He keeps apologized his mother. Damak begged his mother so that he is forgiven and reveal the truth. He said that he still studying and did work hard on his study whenever nobody noticed about it. He does not want to shows to anyone as he also has to work hard collecting money for his mothers medicine. His mother was so touched and forgave Damak. On the last day PMR examination, his mother died by his side. He was so thankful that his mother died in front of his eyes and the other five siblings. The rest which stayed at the boarding school only knew about it a week later. Tauke Yap is the one told them because none of the villagers went to town. Fortunately, Tauke Yap came on that week to visit Mak Cik Gaya as he knew that Mak Cik Gaya is not feeling well. Damak took all the responsible on his other siblings. But, as they have no others relatives, Damak sent the other three siblings to the welfare house. His siblings willing to do what his brother asked them to do. They did realize their situation. Damak himself was adopted by his own class teacher. He changed in sudden because of his mother last wish. The school still accepted him as a student. Not only that, Damak took science stream when he was in Form 4. He performed well in his SPM examination. He got all As in all subjects. He finally got scholarship sponsored from JPA to further his study. He chooses University Malaya and took Medicine course there. He also got the offered to fly abroad but he rejected. He does not want to leave his siblings. He choose Medic because her mothers last wish is she wants Damak build clinic at the village so that the villager have the place they can go whenever they get sick. He was the best student there. He participated in most of the activities there and become the chairman of the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Universit Malaya. He never looked back to his past since that. He was so determined to build and to make her mothers wish reality. He held up to one thing.

The beginning is not the ending. So, what was happened to him before doesnt shows that he could not success in the future. He graduated after six years. He was the first doctor from his humble village. During his convocation ceremony, he stood proud with the rest of his graduating classmates. The memory of his mother made him smile. He touched his mortar board. Tears of joy welled up in his eyes.

3. O SELF REFLECTIVE In order to complete this task, I have to find out a story related to the ending. I have referred a lot of short story an article to find the ideas for my story. I am asking my friends what actually needed in the narrative essays. I did narrative essay when Im in secondary school. But, as times past by, I forgot all the things. Coming back home and I started look out for my past essays I did when Im in secondary school. Luckily, I found them. So, I use some of the ideas. Before start writing the summary, I write down all the main point related to the articles. Then, I select the points that could be the roots of the articles. For me, to accomplish this task is very difficult due to my weakness in English. I cannot either write or understand the terms in English. I already forgot all the simple terms or vocabulary, I started shaking then. That is one of my weaknesses. But, thanks goodness I have complete the tasks even it takes my whole life to complete this. From the tasks, I learnt a lot of new things such as make me read English newspaper, exploring stories in English, simple text in English and also and make me opened up my dictionary. I have to find out the main point for the story and the most important thing, the task improves my writing skills. I hoped, Madame will satisfy with this task.
