TOPIC:OUR DOMINION MANDATE Ministering:Pastor Ayo Oyebanjo. Bible Text:Gen 1:26-28 KJV

To "replenish" means to refill. Man was designed and created to have dominion.Anything other than that is an aberration or an anomaly/misnomer.. To dominate is to be in charge and determine what happens.Our dominion is backed up by authority and power from God. "..For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. (Psalms 8:2b , 5 KJV) God has made us to have dominion and crowned us with glory and honour. Crown symbolizes authority. A crown placed on a Kings head at coronation is a symbol of his authority. When a man sins,he falls short of God's glory. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23 KJV) When we fall, the glory which represents the symbol of authority falls. His image and likeness further confers on us the right to exercise the dominion mandate. "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.. "(Genesis 1:26 a KJV) It is us being in God's image and likeness that qualifies us for Dominion. It is this image and likeness of God in us that makes other animals dread us. For so long as this image and likeness is maintained, we qualify to exercise dominion. The Dominion mandate confers on us a responsibility, the failure of which will leads to catastrophe. Failure to apply our dominion mandate signifies irresponsibility on our part. God expects us to act responsibly because of the dominion mandate given to us so that things will not lead to catastrophe on the earth that he has created. If you are not in dominion then you will be dominated There is no neutral position -you are either in dominion or are being dominated.God wants us to walk in dominion. Sources of domination-Affliction,sin,etc.

I AM CREATED FOR DOMINION NOT TO BE DOMINATED

JURISDICTION OF DOMINION MANDATE Our bible text Gen 1:26-28 KJV tells us about the jurisdiction of our dominion 1) DOMINION OVER THE AIR Our Dominion covers the airspace. This has both physical and spiritual implications/dimension. Mans designs like the air.A lot of our inventions are proofs of man's ability to dominate the airspace. E.g. Aircraft, spacecraft etc. There is also the spiritual dimensions of domination in the air. Beelzebub means the king of flies. A lot of forces of wickedness operate in the mid-heavens. A lot of evil happens in the air.The devil operates in the air. "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: "(Ephesians 2:2 KJV) The bible refers to the devil as the "prince of the power of the air". The air is a space wherein the devil operates with a lot of his angels-witches and witchcraft. "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. "(Daniel 10:13 KJV) The Prince of Persia withstood Daniel in prayers compelling Angel Michael to come in to reinforce the answer to his prayers. "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; "(Psalms 91:5 KJV) Arrows referred to in the text fly in the air! God expects us to have dominion over all these forces in the air. 2) DOMINION OVER THE SEA "Dominion over fishes of the sea" is symbolic of dominion over the sea. In his ingenuity, man has dominated the sea physically by creating ships,submarines,overhead bridges and roads etc. Some people's destinies have been affected because of the operation of spiritual forces like marine spirits, Leviathans etc .

The scripture avers that God has given us dominion "over the fishes of the sea"; whether physical or spiritual!

"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."(Mark 4:39 KJV) When our Lord Jesus Christ was in the boat and a storm arose, he commanded the winds and there was a great calm. There is dominion over the seas for us. 3) DOMINION OVER THE EARTH Man lives essentially on the earth and, accordingly, has developed a lot of inventions for dominating the earth physically. e.g. Electricity, motor vehicles etc Man also needs to dominate the spiritual forces on earth. "Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."(Psalms 91:6 KJV) Man only walks on the earth and "pestilence" is a being, it has legs and walks. God has designed us to dominate the earth physically and spiritually. Our dominion further extends to things underneath the earth. Our jurisdiction of Dominion covers the air, sea and earth

SPECIFICS OF DOMINION MANDATE What does it entail? The a part of Gen 1:28 gives the specifics. In having Dominion these are the things you will do: 1. Be fruitful; 2. Multiply; 3. Replenish the earth; 4. Subdue it. 1. FRUITFULNESS Goes beyond physical fertility, result for efforts, productivity, profiting. 2. MULTIPLICATION To double, triple, quadruple etc

"A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time. "(Isaiah 60:22 KJV) Fruitfulness=> Arithmetic progression Multiplication=> Geometric progression

3. REPLENISH To make up or full or complete again by supplying what is either used up or lacking. Replenishment represents a creativity dimension of the Dominion mandate-what is lacking, what is not in existence but needing to be created. God has made Man to be co-creators with him-what has been used up or what is lacking.

There is also a spiritual dimension to replenishment. God started the creation of things and after finishing the original creation, He gave the mandate of continuous creation to man, asking him to replenish(refill) the earth, Because of our dominion mandate, God has made you a solution provider!

4. SUBDUE To put under, to put in rightful place or to checkmate something. It does not mean oppressing. Stopping something from going beyond its boundaries. To take control and determine how far things can be. The creative dimension of the mandate is also used to subdue the earth. Adversity tend to exacerbate the creative dimension of our dominion mandate for subduing.

HOW DO I EXERCISE THE DOMINION MANDATE? The starting point is ensuring that His image and likeness in us is intact and not damaged or deformed. Sin damages the image and likeness of God and impairs our ability to exercise our dominion mandate.

It was because of the damage that Christ came to recreate us. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10 KJV) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. "(2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

When we come to Christ,He simply transforms what has been deformed so that the image and likeness of God in our life can be restored and we are re-qualified to exercise the dominion mandate. SIN IMPAIRS THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD IN YOU SO FLEE ALL APPEARANCES OF EVIL. If this is intact, then 1. Speak the word of God with authority like Jesus Christ.

"Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish."(Psalms 49:20 KJV). "Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. "(Galatians 4:1, 2 KJV).

A man may have authority but because of lack understanding and knowledge, he may not know how to exercise it. A man with honor who does not understand his authority is likened to the beasts that perish. It is possible for you to have an authority but not to understand the mandate because of ignorance. Knowledge and maturity are key to the exercise of authority and the word of God encapsulates these. We are kings to issue decrees-Kings rule by decrees. Kings are sovereign and rule by decrees-they do not need legislative approvals for their decrees. So we must understand the laws that guide our kingship-which is the scriptures.

We speak the word with authority because the angels are waiting to execute it. "Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. "(Psalms 103:20 KJV) The angels hearken to the voice of his word-not the voice of God! The word is from God but the voice could be anybodys. If you give voice to His word, the angels will hearken and obey. 2. In the place of prayers by spiritual warfare E.g.Fasting and prayers 3. Through praise and giving of thanks. "And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. " (Matthew 15:36, 37 KJV) When Jesus Christ wanted to multiply the bread, He simply gave thanks and the bread was multiplied. The multiplication dimension of the dominion mandate was at work after He gave thanks. When you give thanks, you activate some dimensions/specifics of the dominion mandate. 4. By the operation of the anointing and gift of the spirit. The anointing and gifts of the spirit are tools which God gave us to be able to exercise the dominion mandate. But you do not qualify to exercise this mandate except you are a new creature in Christ Jesus unless you are born again. Because the image and likeness of God which has been impaired by sin must be restored first for you to qualify to exercise this mandate.

PRAYER Thank him for the dominion mandate in you. Refuse anything dominating my life I break the dominion of anything trying to dominate me contrary to the will of God. I refuse to settle for anything less. Without the image and likeness of God intact, you can't exercise dominion mandate I refuse to allow anything dominate me contrary to Your word I stand on the dominion mandate given to me,IJN,Amen.
