Interested Parties Jobs For New York Field Campaign Sept. 6, 2013

Jobs for New York was created with a single goal in mind: Electing Council candidates who are committed to policies that will create good jobs and more housing and opportunities that will sustain a strong economy here in New York City. Small and large businesses alike can only thrive if the underlying economy is healthy and works for all New Yorkers. JFNY has backed candidates who understand this fact and are committed to promoting measures that will help the economy prosper. Not coincidentally, 20 candidates backed by JFNY have also received significant labor endorsements a testament to these candidates job creating policy platforms. Heres a snapshot of what JFNY has accomplished during the past three months. By the end of the City Council campaign, Jobs For New York will have: Knocked on the doors of 325,000 prime voters. Called 695,000 prime voters. Opened seven permanent offices throughout the city in all five boroughs. Hired 250 full-time canvassers with a full-time staff of 25 managers. Handed out more than 750,000 pieces of campaign literature. Conducted 50 district-specific polls tracking our jobs message. Jobs For New York has implemented advanced strategies: Targeting whom we were speaking to using sophisticated targeting analysis and voter history analysis. Using benchmark and tracking polling to define and tailor our messages in individual Council districts. Inputting field and phone data on a nightly basis and shifting troops every three days as polling and ID numbers changed. Printing palm cards and making phone calls in six languages (Russian, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, English and Greek). Using GPS handheld devices to track our canvassers activities and input voter responses in real time. This information was downloaded instantaneously. Jobs For New York has devoted significant resources to the field effort: Almost $2 million directly on the field campaign, including canvassers, phones and printing. More than $650,000 on polling and voter targeting.
