Program Learning Outcome Rankings As a future special education teacher, it took quite some contemplation to figure out how

I would the Eight Program Learning Outcomes in the order of importance they are to my future professional needs. However, I did manage to decide what they would be, and below is detailed summary as to why I chose them in the order I did and why: 1). Program Learning Outcome One: "demonstrate knowledge and skills related to learning using technology". I chose this as the first one, because as a student teacher and future special education teacher I need to be able to have a sound knowledge of learning technologies and how to apply them to my classroom instruction. Teaching students with special needs will require me to be knowledge in various web 2.0 educational tools and applications that can help my students overcome various impairments that they may suffer from. Also, I plan on developing a course blog, which will be a resource and tool parents can use at home with their kids. On the blog will be information to assignments, as well as links to tools that parents can use with their students at home. Not only do I want to be knowledgeable in using and applying technology applications to my future learning assignments, but I want to share my knowledge with future parents, co-workers and administrators that I will work with in years to come.

2). Program Learning Outcome Three: "design learning opportunities that apply technologyenhanced instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners". As I stated earlier, working in my future profession as a special education teacher in the K-12 environment will require me to revise curriculum to accommodate my students various educational needs. For example, my youngest son looks normal, but suffers from severe developmental delays, which greatly impede his academic abilities. He has taught me the importance of why traditional

curriculum must be redesigned with technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners. Like my son, I am sure a lot of my future students will suffer from various learning disabilities, which could include visual and audio impairment, or developmental delays that impede their academic abilities. For instance, if I had a student who was non-verbal I would have to redesign the curriculum with various technological applications that would allow for him to not only understand the instruction, but convey their learning, so that I was able to document whether they did or did not meet lesson objective outcomes. If the student could understand spoken language, but not communicate verbally I would have the student use a technology enhanced lesson that would allow for them to click on the answer using some sort of technological device.

3) Program Learning Outcome Seven: "utilize technology to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings". Unlike typically developing student, who are in structured grade-assigned classrooms, my future students will vary in educational and developmental abilities, which will translate into a lot of formulating a lot of individualized education plans. When creating individualized education plans for my future students, I will need to perform various academic testing, which will allow me to collect and analyze their academic abilities, so that I can communicate the findings and design instruction for them accordingly. In my student teaching program I am starting to learn about a lot of various educational technological programs that can be utilized in the K-12 special education field for academic collection, which allow for me as an educator to better tailor my students learning educational needs. I am actually really excited about learning about what the programs are, and I cant wa it to start putting it into practice in a classroom of my own.

3) Program Learning Outcome Five: "exemplify ethical practices of technology usage. I plan on teaching younger students, who will also be developmentally challenged, so I do not think that I will have to worry about teaching them too much about ethical technology usage practices. However, I, as an educator feel that it is crucial for myself to engage in ethical practices, because I do not want to violate any sort of laws, or set a bad example for my students, or any other person who may consider me a role model. As an educator, I believe you are held to a higher standard, and I intend to do my best to exemplify ethical technology usage practices, and I know that I will to educate myself on ethical practices, so that I can properly uphold them. For example, before this course I had never really thought about the importance documenting web images retrieved from Google images, because I had always just assumed that they were for public use. However, ignorance is not bliss, and I plan on educating myself more about ethical practices.

4) Program Learning Outcome Eight: "demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology in support of learning and leadership". There seems to be so many technology applications that can be used in an academic environment, and as an educator I am sure that I am going to end up doing a lot of research of trying to figure out which ones are best suited for supporting the needs of my students. For instance, wikis are great educational tools for students to utilize, but if the students in my classroom are not able to understand and apply the technology applications in their course of study than it is pointless for me to try and use in my lessons.

5) Program Learning Outcome Two: "demonstrate knowledge and skills in current and emerging instructional technologies". One of the new emerging instructional technologies that I have learned in this class is Jing. Jing and many similar programs enable educators to provide students individual web-based lessons, which students can navigate through at their own pace. By allowing students to be in control of their learning, students are able to have more time to review material that they would have other wised missed in a traditional learning environment. My redesigned activity for this outcome is a prime example. The assignment transformed from a traditional Power Point presentation to a learner-controlled web-based lesson tutorial, which allows for the second grade students to go back and review the time telling concepts they missed.

6) Program Learning Outcome Six: "evaluate technology resources to facilitate effective assessment and evaluation". Getting ready to dive into the K-12 environment, I know that it will be imperative to find the right technology tools and resources needed to implement effective assessments and evaluations on my students learning needs and abilities. There is so much technology resources that I have yet to discover and I am interested to find out how effective they will be. Throughout the MATLT program I used Survey Monkey as a technological resource to evaluate and assess a situation, but I know that this tool is just one of many invaluable tools for effective assessment and evaluation. For instance, if I am testing students reading comprehension levels I want to be able to find a good technology resource that will allow me to assess where my students should be, evaluate the areas in where they are lacking, and then recommend what I can do to help them meet their learning needs.

7) Program Learning Outcome Four: "apply research to support learning in a technologyenhanced environment". Since Washington State has adopted the Common Core Standards, and the schools that I work for will already have curriculum objectives in place, I will not need to engage in much research to support my learning environment. Sadly, the school district where I will eventually teach at does not have a lot of technology resources for their students. I am hoping to change that and am in the process of learning how to write educational grants for technology for not only my future classroom, but school as a whole as well.
