Sri Agadhu Mahapatra-Memorial Talent Scholarship (Guidelines and Management-Rules) 1.

Scope and Objectives: (a)The Scholarship is instituted to perpetuate the memory of (Late) Sri Agadhu Mahapatra (1907-1987), who was an eminent Freedom-Fighter, an exemplary teacher, a social reformer and a self-taught Sanskrit-scholar of rare ability, born in Village: Pratap Purushottam Pur, Puri. (b)The Scholarship is to be awarded to a student of class-X studying in the PratapPurushottamPur-High School on the basis as specified below, @ Rs.120/- per month for one year or till the student passes the class-X examination, whichever is earlier. 2. Eligibility Criteria: (a)The award is to be made on the basis of merit, to a student securing highest percentage of marks in the Final Examination of class-IX of the school, provided that his/her Parents(Guardians) total annual income does not exceed Rs.100000/-. (b) For the purpose of ascertaining the annual income, an income- certificate issued by the Revenue Inspector/ Tahsildar/ Head of the Gram-Panchayat/ Head Master of the School will be deemed sufficient. 3. Operation, Management and Accounting: (A) The selection of the student based upon the eligibility criteria as specified above will be made by the Teachers Committee of the School, latest by 15th, August each year recorded in the form of a resolution in the meeting of the Committee duly signed by the teachers present in the meeting. The name of the student so selected will be communicated to the undersigned at the address specified below, in the following format: (a.) Name of the selected student: (b.)Fathers/Guardians Name: (c.)Percentage of Marks secured in the qualifying examination: (d.)Annual Income of Father/Guardian: (A copy of the relevant income certificate and copy of the resolution taken in the meeting of the Teachers Committee will be enclosed)

(B) On receipt of the above information, post dated cheques in the name of the recipient student will be despatched by the undersigned for the amount of the scholarship in the first lot of six months, through the Head Master of the School. (C)The School will maintain proper record of disbursement of the cheques to the student with a signed receipt from the awarded-student. The despatch of subsequent lot of the scholarship will be made after receipt of evidence of disbursement of the previous lot of the cheques. (D) It is desired that name of the student awarded with the scholarship be announced each year at the annual-function ( or any other annual occasion) of the school along with a brief description of the scholarship as specified under item-(1.) above.
