"....what fellowship can light have with darkness?...." (2Corinthians 6:14)(NIV)-BibleGateway "So leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good," says God. Don't link up with those who will pollute you...." (2Corinthians 6:17)(MSG)-BibleGateway ~ ~ ~ ~
The very days that Christendom spends so much time celebrating, were pagan religious holidays, long before Christ came to the earth the first time. The Vernal Equinox of the goddess "Easter", the Autumnal Equinox of "Halloween" and the winter "solstice" of the Saturnalia, were not only pagan holy days, but they were and still are the most sacred days to those practicing Black Magic and Witchcraft. Don't take my word for it, get an older set of Encyclopedias (the newer ones have removed the true origins - so not to offend anyone).
(quoted by David Bercot, A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, 1998, p. 342). "The "winter solstice (December) was the time at which all the sun-gods from Osiris to Jupiter and Mithra had celebrated their (birthdays) - the celebration being adorned with the pine tree of Adonis, the holly of Saturn, and the mistletoe (of the pagan Druids).....tapers(candles) represented the kindling of the newborn sun-god's fire..." --Man and His Gods, p.201. "Christmas has nothing to do with the Bible... It's a pagan holiday that the Romans invented that we just do." - popular American comedian and actor, Drew Carey. At a White House correspondents' dinner on May 5, 2002.
Easter Excuses
This holiday is even more blatantly sacreligious than the others. Christendom has not even bothered to change the name of the pagan fertility goddess that this Holiday is named after. They have labeled a Holiday for Jesus by the pagan goddess's Name - "Easter". What an insult to Christ.
"Easter.....Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility " - Larry Boemler "Asherah and Easter," Biblical Archaeology Review, Vol. 18, Number 3
Easter - "She was the goddess of love, fertility, and maternity for the Phonicians, Canaanites, Aramaeans, South Arabs, and even the Egyptians. Her name was Ishtar in Babylonia and Assyria..." -World Book, Vol. 1, 782.
"The hare (rabbit), the symbol of fertility in ancient Egypt, a symbol that was kept later in Europe. Its place has been taken by the Easter rabbit" -(Encyclopedia Britannica, 1991 ed., Vol. 4, p. 333). "There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of the apostolic Fathers. The sanctity of special times was an idea absent from the minds
of the first Christians.." -Encyclopaedia Britannica, 13th Edition, 1926, Vol. 8, p.828 "It was common during the early days of Christianity to try to attract new converts by blending Christian observances with existing pagan festivals. Just as the observation of Christmas on December 25, to coincide with the pagan celebration of the winter solstice......the association of the rabbit with Easter is the vestige of an ancient spring fertility rite." -Holiday Symbols, 2nd Edition, by S. E. Thompson, Omnigraphics, Detroit, MI, 2000, p.131,132 "The fact that vernal festivals were general among pagan peoples had much to do with the form assumed by the Eastern festival in the Christian churches. The English term Easter is of pagan origin" -(Albert Henry Newman, D.D., LL.D., A Manual of Church History, p. 299).
Jehovah's Viewpoint
In the end, it's God's viewpoint that really counts - NOT ours. "The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry. The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth." (Psalm 34:15,16)(ASV)-BibleGateway "For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah..." (Proverbs 5:21)(ASV)-BibleGateway "For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him." (2Chronicles 16:9)(ASV)-BibleGateway "The LORD sees everything, and he watches us closely." (Proverbs 5:21)(CEV)-BibleGateway "For God carefully watches the way that people live; he sees everything they do. No darkness is thick enough to hide the wicked from his eyes. For it is not up to mortals to decide when to come before God in judgment. He will openly strike them down for their wickedness. For they turned aside from following him. They have no respect for any of his ways." (Job 34:21-23)(NLT)-BibleGateway "From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth-" (Psalm 33:13,14)(NIV)-BibleGateway "The LORD looks at the world from his throne in heaven, and he watches us all. The LORD gave us each a mind, and nothing we do can be hidden from him." (Psalm 33:13-15)(CEV)-BibleGateway "Don't say, "I didn't know it!" God can read your mind. He watches each of us and knows our thoughts. And God will pay us back for what we do." (Proverbs 24:12)(CEV)-BibleGateway
