3 Tips on How To Increase Your Productivity

In this article I want to share three tips on how you can increase your productivity when you're working from home. One of the common concerns that most home business owners have is being able to manage their time so that they are as productive as they can be. If you try these three tips then you should find that you see an improvement in what you can achieve.

Daily Plan
Try to create a daily plan that you stick to. Ideally create the plan the night before so that you can start the new day with your plan already in place. The problem with creating a plan in the morning is that it can take you an hour to decide what you are going to do for that day and then you have wasted the first hour on something non-productive. At the end of the day you should be aware of the things that you really need to do the next day and what the priorities are and therefore it is the ideal time to create your plan for the following day.

Focus
Being focused is really important if you are actually going to achieve what you want to for the day. If you have a plan in front of you then that will of course help to focus your mind on what you need to do. It is best to focus in on the items that you need to do and to get those completed before you do anything else. Therefore don't turn on your email until you have completed your tasks. Don't make a phone call until you have completed your tasks. Focus in on the tasks you need to perform before you do anything else.

Discovering Your Distractions

There are plenty of distractions when you work at home and especially if you have an online business. One of the most important things you should do is to discover what your particular distractions are. We are all different and some of us may not be distracted by things that really bother other people. For example, if you find Facebook is something that you tend to look at while you are working at home then perhaps this is something that you should turn off so that you are tempted to keep checking on it. The best thing to do is to keep a diary of what you do each day. Whenever you do something else even if it is to check an email or check an update on twitter, write it down in your diary. You can then look at this and see what items are on there that in fact have nothing to do with building your business. These are the things that are distracting you and therefore you can find ways to remove them completely. By: Kay Franklin
