Subject: Biology Theme: investigating the physiology of living things Topic: 6.0 Nutrition
Objective: Understanding types of nutrition Learning Outcomes: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to: State the types of nutrition Explain autotrophic nutrition Explain heterotrophic nutrition Classify organisms according to the types of nutrition
Moral values: Being cooperative, having an interest and curiosity towards the environment, build active thinking, and being thankful to God. Educational contrasting. Instructional Aids/ materials: Laptop, Liquid-Crystal Display (LCD) projector, Slide show, examples of each type of nutrition pictures, white board, marker pen, chocolates, biscuits, rice, orange, leaf, and removable adhesive. Previous Knowledge: 1. Students have basic knowledge about basic nutrient content in food, such as protein, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals. 2. Students have basic knowledge about the important of food for an organism to survive. 3. Students already knew plants cells contain chlorophyll for photosynthesis. Emphasis: Observation, Communicating, Attributing, Comparing and

Teaching Procedures: Stage Set induction ( 5 minutes) Instructional Activities 1) Teacher greets students 2) Teacher shows a short video to about attract animals students 3) Students look at the food. feeding on other animals attention. 3) After the video, teacher takes out some food (chocolates, biscuits, rice, and orange). 4) Teacher asks a series of questions to relate todays lesson. The questions are: 1. What are the animals doing in the short movie? (Ans: They are eating other animals). 2. Have you eat this kind of food before? (show the food on table) 3. Why we need eat rice? (Ans: energy) 4. Do you like eat orange? contain carbohydrate to provide 4) Students respond to teachers questions. Learning Activities 1) Students teacher 2) Students watch the video.

Teacher tells students this kind of nutrition is called autotrophic. Teacher explains further about autotrophic using power point. b) Heterotrophic Teacher ask students : 1. What exactly do you eat every day? (Relate the food is taken directly or indirectly from plants). Teacher shows a power point and explains nutrition. the meaning of heterotrophic Students will read the power point slide and listen to teachers explanations.
