NCC Challenge Quest 2008

Theme : Team Excellence

NCC Challenge Quest is a signature event to


commemorate HQ NCC 107th anniversary.
This event is conducted to foster physical and mental
endurance of the Corps and also to enhance spirit de corps,
planning and teamwork amongst the Cadets.

The results for this years event will be factored in the


tabulation of scores for the Best Unit Competition
TEAM COMPOSITION
There are 2 categories in this competition: Boys'
Category and Girls' Category.

Each school unit will provide a team of 4


participants comprising 1 x Part A, 1 x Part B
and 2 x Part C cadets

Any team with participants over the age of 13 for


Part A, 14 for Part B, and 15 for part C will be
given a penalty of 10 points for every cadet not
meeting the age group.

Ages will be taken with respect to 23rd October

1. Sit Up Station ( 2 Detail total 40 cadets )
2. Push Up Station ( 2 Detail total 40 cadets )

Stage 2 (Run will commence once 10 details are ready – 1400Hrs)


1 Km Run
Followed by clearing of under mentioned obstacles
1. Ramp
2. Swinging Bridge
3. Tyre Lane
4. Balancing Beam
5. Cargo Net
6. Swing
To run additional 50m to Upper Parade Square (End Point)

Push-up (Boys)

1. There is a one-minute time limit for this event.


2. The competitor starts in the ‘elevated’ push-up position.
3. Elbows fully extended
4. Male subject forefoot or toes on floor legs, hips, and back straight
5. Assistant places upright fist below chest of male subject ,Contact with testers fist
6. The body must be perfectly straight, head facing forward.
7. On the command of “go”, the cadet starts going to the down position by bending at the elbows.
8. Once the chest touches the ground, without resting on the ground, the cadet then proceeds back
up to the starting position.
9. If the cadet bounces off the floor to gain momentum in an effort to get back to the up position, no
point is awarded.
Push-up (Girls)

Knee touching the ground

1. There is a one-minute time limit for this event.


2. The Girls cadets starts with their knees on the ground to do push-up
position.
3. Elbows fully extended
4. Girls Assistant places upright fist below chest of participant,
5. The body must be perfectly straight, head facing forward.
6. On the command of “go”, the cadet starts going to the down position by
bending at the elbows.
7. Once the chest touches the ground, without resting on the ground,
the cadet then proceeds back up to the starting position.
8. If the cadet bounces off the floor to gain momentum in an effort to get back
to the up position, no point is awarded.
Sit -Up ( Girls / Boys )

1. There is a one minute time limit for this station


2. Participants lie down with legs bent, hands cupping ears or neck, elbows touching
knees
3. Back touches the mat on each repetition
4. Hips stay on the ground, feet anchored by partner or apparatus
5. Knees must be bent at 90°, and hands to be clasped behind neck or ears
6. Elbows travel beyond or make contact with knees
7. Back of shoulders must return to floor
8. A curl-up is a sit-up with the arms crossed in front.

Push Up and Sit Up Station:

Participants will complete as many repetitions as possible within a minute that they are given

Point will be awarded for every repetition successfully completed

Maximum individual score allowed for these station will be 50 Points each

Maximum team score allowed is (4 X 50), 200 Points per station

Highest possible score: Push-Ups = 4 participants X = 200

Penalties
Teams will be subject to penalties if they fail to comply with the rules
or complete the tasks assigned to them

The penalties for each violation is as follows:

Start Point for 1Km run with MOC


District Admin matters
All registration forms are to be submitted by 1st Oct 2008 to
the respective District CSO’s
All registration forms are to be certified by Unit CO and
endorsed by respective DCs
All participants are required to bring along a form of
identification
Ferry services will be provided from Yio Chu Kang MRT Station
to HQ NCC campus between 1200hrs - 1345 hrs, and 1800hrs -
1900hrs
School Units providing their own transport are to drop their
cadets off at the NCC Lower Parade Square
Registration will commence on 23rd Oct 2008 from 1300hrs –
1330hrs at the NCC MPH (Multi-Purpose Hall). The registration
forms are attached in Annex A of the Administrative
Instructions
The cut off timing for participant registration will be 1400
hrs
Attire
 The attire for cadets participating in this event will be
No.4 uniform with boots.
Participants are advised to bring along their water
bottles.

Security
 All Personnel are reminded not to carry any camera or
camera handphone into Amoy Quee Camp due to security
reasons.
