State of the Lodge
Brothers of the Lodge, As this new school year has just started I would like to say welcome back! I hope you all are doing well and had a great summer. This summer the National Convention was held at Wake Forest University. Timmy Newton (Rush Chair), Dan Butensky (#4), and myself all attended. It was a great opportunity to meet Brothers from all over the country. Also for those of you who do not know, we received a Bronze in accreditation last year, which is an improvement from the previous year. This upcoming year we hope that we can improve that and achieve Silver or Gold. September is going to be a busy month at the Lodge. We won our home opener against Central Connecticut State on September 7th, in a thrilling double OT game. As a football team, we are coming off a 10-1 season and are currently ranked #19 in the FCS with hopes to become the Patriot league Champions and have a playoff berth. Also, we will have our 2nd annual Alumni/ Parent Cocktail Party on September 29th. We hope that we can get a great turnout and make it even better than last years.

Undergraduate Spotlight: Lee Kurfis

Brother Lee Kurfis 14 had been an active and dedicated brother throughout his time here in Chi Psi. From West Chester, PA, Lee Kurfis excelled in academics and football at Bayard Rustin high school. At Lehigh, Lee is majoring in Supply Chain Management. Brother Kurfis is 1 of 2 Chi Psis to be voted captain of this years football team. In the first game of the year Brother Kurfis, recorder 7 catches for 222 yards and two touchdowns. This effort helped the team secure a 51-44 victory over Central Connecticut State. Brother Kurfis also received Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors, the first wide receiver to receive the award since 2010. We are very proud of Brother Kurfis and the entire Lehigh Football team and hope for future success.

New Facebook Page

There will be a new Facebook page for parents and alumni going live in the coming weeks. The Facebook page will be replacing the old website because the local website is no longer available through Lehigh. The page will be a tool that is utilized for Lodge updates, pictures from events and news for upcoming events. The Facebook page will also include information about accreditation and how stakeholders can help active Brothers in different Lodge event.

New Twitter Account

There will be a new Twitter account for all stakeholders involved with Chi Psi going live in the coming weeks. The twitter account will be a great way for alumni and parents to receive immediate update about Chi Psi. The account will also post reminders about upcoming events that are discussed in the Monthly Newsletter.

P&E Account
The P&E account is a valuable asset to the current undergraduate Brothers. It allows us to use funds to partake in intellectual activities that will enhance the Chi Psi experience. The P&E account can be accessed at mylehigh.lehigh.edu/fraternity . We encourage alumni to continue to donate to the P&E account so we are able to have events in the future and allow future Brothers to truly experience what it means to be a Chi Psi Gentleman.

Program for Excellence
The Program for Excellence served as the cornerstone of last years Mid-Year Leadership Retreat (MYLR). The Program for Excellence is a program that presents new ideas on how to improve sorority relations and improving what it means to be Chi Psi Gentlemen. It features ideas such as speed dating, pig picking, golf outing events etc. An online version of the Program for Excellence is available at: www.chipsi.org/programforexcellence.

Accreditation
For our efforts last year, we received a Bronze accreditation rating. Brothers believed we should have received a high rating but, are content that we were not kicked of the hill. This year we are striving to go above and beyond last years rating and improve on events that were put into place last year.

Scholarship
We will be hosting the second annual Scholarship award cocktail at the Lodge during the spring semester. Brothers will be awarded monetary prizes for Overall Highest GPA, Most improved GPA, Highest GPA in each college and Most improved GPA in each college. This is made possible by the P&E account at Lehigh. The P&E account can be accessed at mylehigh.lehigh.edu/fraternity . We encourage alumni to continue to donate to the P&E account so we are able to have more events like this and future Brothers can experience what it truly means to be a Chi Psi Gentleman.
