OVERVIEW With SimDesigner for CATIA V5 integrated solutions, CATIA V5 users benefit from the worlds leading simulation and virtual product development (VPD) technology from inside their CATIA V5 environment. SimDesigner Advanced Structures Professional (ASP) enables CATIA V5 design teams to do advanced mesh creation and manipulation beyond what is available in the CATIA V5 simulation environment. ADVANCED MESHING CAPABILITIES SimDesigner ASP allows users to create mesh entities with or without existing geometry. ASP is targeted at the advanced user and provides advanced meshing tools to improve mesh characteristics and model quality. Users have the ability to effectively handle finite element models with enhanced node and element ID management including creation, modification, deletion, and grouping. GREATER FLEXIBILITY IN MESH MANAGEMENT Through a common graphical user interface, ASP complements both the preprocessing options available with CATIA V5 products and the SimDesigner for CATIA V5 portfolio of applications. The seamless integration of MSC.Softwares sophisticated preprocessing technology within the CATIA environment enables users to gain insight into their simulation early in the design process. ASP provides a greater flexibility to the advanced users by enabling them to reuse any NASTRAN legacy data in their CATIA V5 environment.
