LEAP

Living Education Apprentice Programme An Agreement To Serve

LEAP is the Findhorn Foundations staff intake programme. We welcome you to come here in the Findhorn Foundation and contribute your own unique gifts and skills, so that together we can co-create a more loving and sustainable world. Once accepted onto LEAP you engage with the joys and challenges of daily life in a spiritual community, education centre and eco-village. We invite you to join in the practice of being present in every task and interaction, and to choose to live everyday life as a spiritual path with us based on our core spiritual principles of inner listening, work is love in action and co-creation with nature. You join in a work department, participate in community meetings, engage in spiritual and personal development, and have regular reviews. This programme is a commitment to serve in this centre. We ask you to contribute a full working week with some weekend rotas, and we will provide you with food, basic accommodation and a supportive learning environment. Prerequisite: Experience Week Exploring Community Life or Spiritual Practice or equivalent like Eco Village Training or English in Community Minimum of 2 months Living in Community Guest Programme (LCG) We also recommend the Foundation Programme. Flexible entry - you can join LEAP almost any week of the year. Application Procedure: You fill in an application form (available at leap@findhorn.org). Applications are subject to the needs of work departments and availability of living space at the time of your application. You are encouraged to connect with work department focalisers to get their support for your application. Once you have filled out an application form we may offer you an interview. Please note that your application may come at a time when all our work departments are fully staffed in which case you may be put onto a waiting list.

LEAP

We welcome you to join: * Short term LEAP (2 - 6 months commitment): You commit to full time work and you join weekly group time and have reviews. * LEAP for a longer term (6 months and over): You commence the journey towards becoming a staff member by being welcomed to a three-day induction time and a threshold ritual. You will have a mentor for monthly meetings and engage with a self-directed learning path. There will be education sessions available and you will join weekly group meetings. Every 6 months you will have a review with your mentor and work department focaliser. These meetings are to provide support and space for feedback and to reevaluate your commitment. The induction days take place 3-4 times a year.

Programme Fee: A sliding scale of 50 - 350 per month for the first 6 months, thereafter free. You will also need to pay a council tax contribution. Visa requirements (Non EU): Once you are accepted onto LEAP we will provide you with the necessary information. You will need to apply for your visa from you home country. Although LEAP is our staff intake and training programme, staff positions are limited and there is no guarantee of a staff job at the end of the programme. Normally we would expect someone to have completed at least one year of LEAP before applying for a staff position. The maximum time for being on the LEAP programme is normally two years.
