After agreeing to take part in the survey, respondents were read this brief background information about the city of Brookhaven and the Pink Pony:
This survey is being paid for by a coalition of neighbors and homeowners associations here in Brookhaven. The city of Brookhaven is being sued by the Pink Pony, an adult entertainment business located near Buford Highway. The purpose of this survey is to find out where citizens stand on this issue. First, a little background. In 1999, DeKalb County passed a law which regulated adult entertainment businesses. This law resulted in a major lawsuit that was settled by allowing existing adult entertainment businesses to remain open. The city council in Brookhaven recently passed a law similar to the 1999 DeKalb law, and is now being sued by the Pink Pony. One way to end the lawsuit with the Pink Pony is to enter into a similar settlement agreement. Now that you have some background on the situation. We would like to know your opinion on a few specific issues.

By fighting the Pink Pony, city officials are representing the will of the community. In my personal opinion city officials should continue to spend time and taxpayer money to fight the Pink Pony.
