Tourism Development

In a simple meaning, the term Tourism refers to the movement or journey from one place to another for observation, entertain or with certain objectives. From the time period of starting of human civilization, human being started to travel from one place to another and fulfill their objectives. Today this process occupies the larger area due to the speed of time and the changes occurs in it due to dynamic nature. In context of Nepal it is believes that after 1962 tourism was started to regard as profession. But before 1962 also, foreigner use to visit Nepal for social, cultural study of Nepal. A country Nepal, which is in underdevelopment stage and reach in art, culture and tradition. Tourism counts a lot. Tourism is also regards as the backbone of countrys economy. Our country Nepal is famous in all over the world for Mount Everest which is the highest peak in the world, for the birth place of Siddhartha Gautam (Gautam Buddha) who is also known to be the light of Asia and synonymous of peace. Not only this but also for art, architecture, culture, religion and so on. Through this also we can say that our country has created so many possibilities for tourism. But due to lack of appropriate identification and conservation of so many places which owned many possibilities to the tourism sector is not doing well. It is also found that whichever tourism areas are getting better, they are of certain geographical area. There are so many such places in Nepal which are still out of tourists eye and need to be promoted. For this SORD Nepal is set off to promote and to bring out into tourism sector with our best effort. For the development of the country, tourism plays the vital role. Though our country got many possibilities over it, the condition of tourism sector is still not satisfactory. As a consequences, sufficient amount of foreign currencies are not entering in Nepal. Tourism business is such a business which includes of various important things like collection of revenues, chances and opportunities of employment, even the identification and popularity of the country in the rest of the world. So to develop this sector and to promote it we say this is todays need. There are many such tourist areas in Nepal like Mt. Everest, Lumbini (birth place of Lord Buddha), Rara Lake, Pashupatinath Temple and so on which attracts local as well as foreign tourist much. But we believe that these areas are not enough for tourists. There are so many other destinations for tourists. Our main theme is only the natural beauties like mountains, lakes, ponds, rivers, forests are not means for tourist attraction, but there are other many attractive places, cultural centre, religion, culture, tradition etc which can be adopted as the same categories in tourism sector. To develop tourism sector in Nepal and to boost up the economic development of the country it would be better to sum up the above mentioned theme. It is already mentioned above that we should not be limit tourism sector in mountains, ponds, lakes and so on which are of natural beauties. Todays tourism sector can be based on rural areas of Nepal. It can be their social, economic, political and cultural conditions along with appropriate research and inspection. It can be wildlife, birds, flowers and so on. This will change the common perception regarding to tourism and to develop Nepal economically through tourism.

Possibilities of Tourism Industries in Nepal Our country consists of many such places and things which attract foreign tourists much. We cant attract many tourists here unless we manage these all places, things properly and most important factor is unless we conserve them. There are many possibilities which increase the limitation of Nepalese tourism industries which are mentioned as follows: 1. Rich in Natural Beauties:Nepal, so called a part of heaven is rich in nature. That tourist who likes to observe the nature and entertain themselves through the natural beauties comes to Nepal. Mt. Everest, Rara Lake, Fewa Lake, Fishtail, Annapurna etc are some names of natural beauties which attract the tourists. These places and sceneries are god gifted to Nepal. 2. Famous country in terms of religion: Nepal is regarded as the country of temples and moreover it itself is the country of Nepal four caste and 36 of sub-castes along with having various linguistics, religion, culture, tradition and so on. There are so many religious sites in Nepal. Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Manakamana, Basantapur Durbar square are some examples of it. Tourists are visiting Nepal to observe the religious taste of Nepal. 3. Varies in culture and eco-system: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur are some places in Nepal which are rich in culture, architecture and so on. Not only this, Nepal has got the variation in geographical aspects also. It contains mountain, hill and terai region. Due to this variation in region, there are different cultures as well. Therefore, Nepal is the land and key sources for foreign tourist to study the different subjects regarding culture and eco-system as well. Problems existing in tourism industry in Nepal 1. Lack of proper transportation facilities. 2. Lack of entertainment tools or proper production of it. 3. Lack of Publicity. 4. Lack of well managed tourist centers. 5. Lack of well managed foot trails. 6. Lack of development in cultural and social aspects. 7. Lack of alternative tourist center. 8. Lack of communication facilities. 9. Political instability. 10. Lack of security. 11. Pollution. Measures to Solve These Problems: 1. Developing transportation and communication facilities. 2. Developing lodging and entertainment based resources. 3. Developing and to promote national and international airlines routes. 4. Wide publicity of Nepal internationally.

5. Conservation of religious and cultural sites.
