SULTAN MIZAN IN YEAR 2009.

ANALYSE THE DATA USING CENTRAL TENDENCY

Measure the data using MODE.

The mode for Social Studies 1 students is 24.

The mode for Social Studies 2 students is 18.

The mode for Social Studies 1 students is 24 while the mode for Social Studies 2 students is 18. It shows that the mode of Social Studies 1 students is higher than Social Studies 2 students.

Measure the data using MEDIAN.

The median of Social Studies 1 students is 23.

The median of Social Studies 2 students is 20.

The median of Social Studies 1 students is 23 while the median of Social Studies 2 students is 20. It shows that the median of Social Studies 1 students is higher than the Social Studies 2 students.

Measure the data using MEAN.

The mean for Social Studies students 1 is 17.

The mean for Social Studies 2 students is 22.1

The mean for Social Studies students 1 is 17 while the mean for Social Studies 2 students is 22.1. It shows that the mean of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the Social Studies 1 students. ANALYSE THE DATA USING DISPERSION.

Measure the data using RANGE.

The range of Social Studies 1 students is 15.

The range of Social Studies 2 students is 18.

The range of Social Studies 1 students is 15 while the range of Social Studies 2 students is 18. It shows that the range of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the Social Studies 1 students.

Measure the data using VARIANCE.

The variance of Social Studies 1 students is 19.90526316.

The variance of Social Studies 2 students is 24.62105263.

The variance of Social Studies 1 students is 19.90526316 while the variance of Social Studies 2 students is 24.62105263. It shows that the variance of Social Studies 2 students is higher than Social Studies 1 students.

Measure the data using STANDARD DEVIATION

The standard deviation of Social Studies 1 students is 4.461531481. .

The standard deviation of Social Studies 2 students is 4.961960563.

The standard deviation of Social Studies 1 students is 4.461531481 while the standard deviation of Social Studies 2 students is 4.961960563. it shows that the standard deviation of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the standard deviation of Social Studies 1 students.

INTERPRETATION OF DATA.

The mode is the data value that appears the most in the set. Calculate the frequencies for all of the values in the data. The mode is the value (or values) with the highest frequency. The mode for Social Studies 1 students is 24 while the mode for Social Studies 2 students is 18. It shows that the mode of Social Studies 1 students is higher than Social Studies 2 students. It means that majority of Social Studies 1 students have the overweight body mass index compare to Social Studies 2 which range from 23 to 27.5 kg/m2 .

The median is the middle value after the data has been arranged in either ascending (smallest to largest) or descending (largest to smallest) order. But if there have an odd number of values, the median is the middle value. If you have an even number of values, the median is the arithmetic mean of the two middle values. The median of Social Studies 1 students is 23 while the median of Social Studies 2 students is 20. It shows that the median of Social Studies 1 students is higher than the Social Studies 2 students.

The mean of a set of data is the arithmetic average, the most common measure of central tendency. To calculate mean, the sum of the values divided by the number of values often called the average. Add all of the values together. Divide by the number of values to obtain the mean. The mean for Social Studies students 1 is 17 while the mean for Social Studies 2 students is 22.1. It shows that the mean of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the Social Studies 1 students. The range is the difference between largest value and smallest value in a set of data. To find the range, subtract smallest number from largest number and its difference is the value of the range. The range of Social Studies 1 students is 15 while the range of Social Studies 2 students is 18. It shows that the range of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the Social Studies 1 students. The (population) variance of a random variable is a non-negative number which gives an idea of how widely spread the values of the random variable are likely to be. The larger the variance, the more scattered the observations on average. The variance of Social Studies 1 students is 19.90526316 while the variance of Social Studies 2 students is 24.62105263. It shows that the variance of Social Studies 2 students is higher than Social Studies 1 students. Standard deviation is to show the dispersion (spread/ variability) of the data in each score distribution. The size of the standard deviation show the values of the data whether it spread out or not. The standard deviation of Social Studies 1 students is 4.461531481 while the standard deviation of Social Studies 2 students is 4.961960563. it shows that the standard deviation of Social Studies 2 students is higher than the standard deviation of Social Studies 1 students. Homogenous data means range of each data or different of each data almost same or small different. From the data that we analysed, the data for the both classes is homogenous data because the differences of the data almost same and show small differences.

The pie charts above show the categories of BMI range for Social Studies 1 and 2 students.
